How long do brake calipers and wheel bearing hubs last?

I have a 2008 A4 Quattro Avant, with the 2.0 turbo. I'm doing the brake rotors and pads. The calipers seem fine, but they are original according to the records from the previous owner. It has 165k miles on it.

I'm also wondering how long wheel bearing hubs usually last on these cars. Should I consider doing them while I'm in there?

Wheel bearing life is usually dependent on use/abuse but can be completely up in the air. My A6 needed a new wheel bearing at 3xxxx miles, but my old B7 went well over 100k without needing one. Defective ones may not last a while (I've used Optimal with zero issues, fwiw). My allroad chewed through 2 replacements before the 3rd stuck b/c the shop didn't want to mount it on the bench.

The hubs will last a while, as they can be reused when changing out the bearing.

Inspect the calipers. Particularly dust boots and bleeders for damage or corrosion, respectively. Rebuild kits for the calipers shouldn't be much if you need to do that. But if nothing's wrong and the brakes still respond the way you want, give them a good clean and you should be good to go.

Thanks Audibot. I'm going to reuse the calipers, but replace the slide pins and boots. I'm really torn on whether the replace the hubs, but since they are not making any noise I'll probably just leave them alone. If I eventually tear a boot on the CV axles, that would be another good time to replace the hubs I guess.

Caliper seals do age and may not retract the pistons as well as they get older. If in doubt fresh seals are not a bad call. Second brake job is not a bad time to do them. Wheel bearings are hit or miss. Outright failure because they are noisy is the obvious time to change them. As they age they will get noisier but its nothing obvious. I swapped a set out with 150,000 miles. The races still looked good but had some roughness. I could tell the difference most people would never notice. The car just felt newer with less background noise. Hub? The only issue is are they straight and how do the threads look?
