Heated Steering wheel and sync button

    Hey all.

Feel like a dope posting this, but I have read the manual and cannot figure this out.

    1) Is there a way to access the heated steering wheel without going through the MMI on-screen menu? In my prior SQ7 there was a * button on the steering wheel that could be programmed for the heated steering wheel quick access but my wheel has no such button.

    2) I keep noticing that the SYNC button on the lower screen comes and goes. Right now that button is blank, yesterday it said SYNC. Is that a feature? :P

    1) You can configure your climate main screen to have the heated steering wheel button at the bottom of the climate screen (the two most inner buttons a configurable). The way to proceed is to activate the axially climate screen on the main MMI, press and hold the steering wheel heating button until you see the screen change, without releasing the button, drag it to either the left or right spot depending where you want it. The main hiccup with this is that there seems to be an MMI software glitch that prevents the presets to stick when the ignition is switched off, so it reverts back to the default when you restart the car. Hopefully Audi will fix this with a software update sooner than later.

    2) I have the same issue where sometimes either the SYNC button appears or sometimes it is just blank. I suspect this is related to the same glitch noted above. There is however one neat trick to work around this: if you simply "pinch" (drag to fingers together) on the Climate touch screen, it will automatically sync the 4 zones.

Thanks for the info. I added the heated steering wheel button in place of SYNC and will see if it sticks. And the tip on the two finger pinch was also super helpful.

You were right about this too... when I drove my car again later after making the change, it had reverted back to the blank button. Is there not a current TSB or software update that fixes this issue?

You can also use voice command to turn the heated wheel on/off.

Voice commands are slooooow. Also, don't sing along to any music with Hey, Audi enabled. Don't ask me how I know this.

I gave the voice command a try this morning and it actually worked! I could care less about heated steering wheel esp in California but my wife will be very happy.
