Anyone have a recommendation for an SA at Audi of Chantilly?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I know we have a few NoVA locals in here, any recommendations for a service advisor at Audi of Chantilly? I got the gateway recall and need to setup an appointment but figured I should start a relationship with an SA now.

    The SA choices are:

    David Martin
    Jonathan Gadson
    Jason Gage
    Franco Arbanil

Or anyone in the NoVA/DC area.

I haven't had dealer service since 2005, so I'm interested too.

    You’re right, it’s not.

The regional forums say to go to Silver Spring but they’re over an hour and a half away, almost to Baltimore…

I had no issues with Audi of Arlington for my wife’s Q5 for service. Not as far as Silver Spring. Audi of Rockville was good and that’s where we got her Q5 from.

well, I’ll speak up for Franco. He was my advisor when I went in for inspection and service in Dec. He was courteous, aware of some concerns I had about delaying some service covered by AudiCare and delaying it for another year based on my mileage. He also assisted me with getting info on extended warranty questions answered. I’ve used Audi of Chantilly since 2014 when I bought my S4 from them and now with the SQ5 for 4 years. Granted, nothing major, just services and some recalls. But I have no complaints, and will stay with Franco if I need something.

Do people really think these SAs have any effect on repair work? Where I am in metro NY, they are mere intake robots, they’re underpaid, constantly cycling in and out, and have no power or influence over anything. Everything they do is watched and regulated; they can’t get you in or out any faster, they have no knowledge or influence on fixing any technical issues. Audi will probably replace them with self service kiosks soon. It would be so much better to speak to someone who actually gets their hands dirty.

My SA at my Subaru dealer absolutely would advocate for me when it came to warranty work. The Service Manager also would go the extra mile on stuff for me because I had that relationship with them.

So yes, I do believe it.

^This. This is why I said what I said before. Nothing on the SA's... they aren't doing the actual work.

Agreed. I don’t mean to be disrespectful to SA’s, a job is a job. Where I am however, thinking that an Audi SA has even the slightest clue about your car technically or mechanically is wrong. They have zero training other than in the computer screens to fill out when a customer walks in, and how to print receipts. Buddying up to them will get you absolutely nothing. It makes their day easier to have a nice customer (i have nothing against being nice), but they can do absolutely nothing for you. The “service manager” might have some discretion, but the customers are kept away from the service manager unless there’s a major problem.
