    Heated steering wheel underwhelming?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
With the recent TEXAS “snow” I decided to take my wife’s Q8 into work and not risk an incident in the RS6. The heated steeering wheel in my RS6 is barely noticeable, in fact initially I thought it wasn’t working. I was shocked to see how well my wife’s heated steering wheel worked.
Should I have the RS6 checked or is this par for the course?

I can feel mine after a couple minutes and then it does eventually get fairly warm. It takes some time, though.

Mine barely gets warm, even after an extended period. Heated seats get quite warm, but not the wheel.

You can increase the temperature on the steering wheel and heated seats using the OBDeleven dongle. I plugged mines in and used my phone and increased both by 7 degrees so its nice and warm now. The standard setting is pathetic. You can make other adjustments like rear tail lights on during day, needle sweep, turn off that annoying headlights washer when washing windshield and check/clear any error codes, etc.

Was going to mention this as well. Makes a huge difference.

I'm interested in coding the heated steering wheel temperature. Can you please share the code? Thanks!

The coding is in the steering wheel module.

Max is 45 deg C, however it will hit the high temp switch and turn off once it reaches that temp. I have mine set a 44C so it stays on for my entire drive. (44.5C hit the high temp occasionally)

When you open up the obdeleven app, pair with your car and on the home menu theres an app button where it will take you immediately to the steering wheel, heated seats, ventilation seats etc to make adjustments
