Ultra High Performance All Season Tire Recommendation

Hello, looking for a new set of tires for my 17 A3, the Pirelli cinturato p7's it came with are worn and not the type of tire that fits my driving style. Dry traction and steering feel are highest priority, however in NJ with only one set, summer tires are a no. Winter driving just needs to be possible, it doesnt need to be amazing.

It seems like its come down to 3 tires.

    Continental ExtremeContact DWS 06 Plus
Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4
    BFGoodrich g-Force COMP-2 A/S PLUS

From what I've researched the Michelins out perform the Continentals. But how about the BFGoodrich's? I've had them in the past and was very impressed with the grip and feedback. Will the Michelins be more impressive? Or do I stick to what I know. The Continentals are very very popular though. Its a hard choice.

Looking for any opinion or feedback please. Tires make a huge impact in performance and I wanna make sure I choose right. Car is gonna be lightly modded this spring so coilovers, sway bars, tune etc.

IDK what your driving style is like, but the DWS06 are clearly more focused on winter driving and has a softer tire and worse turn-in than the Pilot Sport all season 4s.

I think the BFG Comp 2 all seasons used to be more of a contender about 5 years ago, but I don't think the Plus really improved enough over the previous version. If you're more budget conscious they're a good choice, but if you're looking for the top all season tire I don't think they're really in the same conversation. They're also heavier than the other two by a couple of pounds, which is a couple pounds of unsprung weight.

Thanks for the input. I was leaning towards the Michelins just wanted to justify the price before committing. I think thats what im gonna do.

Tire Rack conducts a lot of testing. I always go by them https://www.google.com/search?q=tire...client=gws-wiz

I was literally going to make the same exact post. I was between the same three. I think I’ll be springing for the Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4 myself.

I occasionally track the car and my cinturato 7’s literally crumbled by the end of the day of my first HPDE event with the car. I know the pilot sport a/s would likely do the same given enough laps and session with all the heat. I’m hoping it lasts longer if I let them cool every few laps. They’re the most expensive but all things considered I believe they’re the best choice from test reviews I’ve seen to fit the perfect sporty daily needs.

My impressions of the conti’s were that overall they felt far mushier on turn in compared to the other two during more aggressive driving. The BFG just seem a little more dated in the tech department. I know personally my local discount tire guy said at the end of the day the pilot sport a/s 4 would run me about $140 over the BFG. At the end of the day I think I’ll take that cost.

I’ll be making a post on the pilots track longevity as I’m still curious about that and don’t want to ruin another new set of tires
