Not as bad as one would think. They are $5700 after conversion from CDN to USD for the forged magnesium.

Continental SportContact 6 245/35ZR19 93Y XL R02 Audi tires. I wanted R02 or R01 rating so that limited my choices. These tires are about 1lb lighter than stock and have more sidewall and the same tread width. All in all, the wheels and tires will be dropping 42.56lbs of rotating mass off. Excited to feel the difference in ride quality and perhaps a bit on acceleration. If I dont like them, I will put the Pilot Sport 4S's on next.

sounds about right. i was looking into carbon or magnesium wheels this past year since we were looking to go with something lighter. couldn't justify the cost. IMO that money could be put into something else performance related and get a better result. hella jealous that you went that route though!

Definitely not the best bang for the buck overall, but if you want to keep your Audi warranty (i have a 7yr 120k Audi extended wrap), then ya gotta pay more to get the weight off.

I was hoping they were going to come in a little lighter with the starting weight for 19s being 14.3lbs, but that’s not bad. Depending on what their 18x9s weigh, I’d like 14lbs or less, I may pick some of these up.

That was my call. I wanted a 1700lb load rating by design so they would be extremely tough, more so than needed, especially if I end up tracking the car. The base wheel came in at 16.8lbs designed for that rating. They would be lighter if you drop the desired load rating closer to stock. Regarding 18's, if your goal is net weight loss it can be hard sometimes to get that with 18" wheels, because the tires are often heavier than they would be with a 19" rim, assuming you use the same sidewall height as stock and width etc. Kind of negates the point if your tires come in 2-3 lbs heavier each on 18's (since the weight is farther out from centerline on the tire) just to get a lighter rim. Food for thought. If you can get some 21-22lb tires and 18's at 14lbs with a good load rating, that would be awesome. I have a calculator in Excel that auto-calculates rotational inertia for the wheels/tires/rotors based on diameter and weight, etc.

That’s a great point and I honestly forgot to research that. Using Tirerack.com and my preferred size of 265/40/19, Michelin PSS is the lightest option at 25lbs. Same tire in 265/40/18 is 27lbs. Oddly, they didn’t have hardly any tire options for 265/45/18 which would be the perfect size. Either way, it looks like the overall weight is going to be about the same regardless of which size I choose so I guess I can stick with 19s.

Agreed, go with the 19's and enjoy the better look on the car and the brake rotor clearance with the lighter tires. Continental ExtremeContact Sports are very light, as are the SportContact 6's (which come in RO2 ratings if you care about maintaining that). OEM Pirellis are about 23lbs for reference, per online specs. The 245/35R19s I got for the SportContact 6 RO2's are 22lbs each, which I confirmed on my home scale. Therefore, lighter tires and wheels all around for this setup.

Mag wheels are on. Stoked! The ride quality is INCREDIBLE compared to the 20's. Tire noise is down 50-60% I'd estimate, if not more. Definitely quicker in all ways for acceleration and it launches more smoothly, likely due to the sidewall. I'm a happy camper!
