I have used Intercity Lines, Reliable Carriers, Fisher Auto and RunBuggy. The last two are brokers, but not your typical brokers. RunBuggy while a broker, does curate their list of carriers. I got to know their CEO and COO, they are trying to bring auto shipping to the 21st century. They have built a really cool platform and provides a lot of advantages to all parties. Here is my take on the folks I have used:
Intercity Lines - fantastic service, great communication, typically (in my experience) very slow, the last few times I booked them they were 6-8 weeks out on pickup, pay a deposit up front, balance on delivery
Reliable Carriers - great service, decent communication, typically (in my experience) very slow, the last few times I booked them they were 4-6 weeks out on pickup, pay everything upfront at time of booking
Fisher Auto - a broker (take it for what it is), very good carriers (from my experience), very fast typically pick up in 1-3 days from order (and delivery 2-3 days from pickup), deposit upfront, balance on delivery
RunBuggy - fantastic service (they curate their carriers), carrier was fantastic that delivered my car (enclosed transport with two cars in it), GPS tracking the whole trip, you have the ability to communicate directly with the driver, various level of service can be chosen (all the way up to complete white glove), they take pictures of the car at pickup and delivery (no one I know of others this service), very fast pick up in 1-3 days from order (and delivery 2-3 days from pickup), no deposit and payment is only made at delivery (to me this speaks volumes on the business model), (if matters to you) they are backend service for the Bring A Trailer delivery service, the white glove service they other BaT is comprehensive (ensuring payment, title transfer, condition of car before/after delivery, etc)
BTW, never contact Montway, they will call you incessantly...
