IE VW & Audi 2.0T Intake Manifold "Install guide"

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Hi, this is my first post. I've gotten a lot of info from this place so I figured I would give back.

I purchased the Intake manifold from *URO TUNING, Not FCP* and let me tell you it was like pulling teeth trying to get some semblance of an installation guide at all. (don't get me started on the shipping process and all of the miscommunication and wrong parts being sent to me that's another thread entirely. )

The instruction card in the box (sent 2) said their instructions are listed online, however after many emails and scouring the site I couldn't find the installation materials. Finally after a while they sent me the instructions but they never uploaded it after I mentioned that it was nowhere to be found. For anyone else who is looking for detailed instructions to install this part...... Well you are pretty limited on your videos in regards to this specific vehicle application. The only one I've seen that is detailed enough is from "Bruce Custom Motors" bless him. Unfortunately some key areas did get skipped and only added to the confusion of the incorrect parts that I got sent.

attached is their...... "Instructions". It's helpful to inventory what parts you got sent that were wrong but beyond that this is what you get if you need their help.

anyway Cheers much love yada yada

*edit* clearly I am new. I updated the link this should work.

The real question of course is why were you replacing it and did it fix your issue ? was it the dreaded flap motor error ?

First, I hope you bought the VW sidewinder version, 06J 133 201BH. It is almost identical and about $300 cheaper..or it was when I did that job last October.

Your attachment didn't work for me, but for anyone else searching here, I followed the Carbon Cleaning DIY here, since step one is removing the intake mani.

Actually it was just a failed injector cyl 3. Got it back together but then injector 1 didn’t get seated properly so working on that over the weekend. I knew it was going out, and I had already sprung for the manifold a month before the failure (it was a sign) Was just waiting until it was time to do the carbon clean before I installed it. Running a high flow cat, Wagner tuning comp ic, forge diverter, southbend clutch, and stock turbo still. Wanted to get the platform up and prepared for the ko4.

How do you like the manifold? Notice any difference in power or change in powerband?

No difference, I've been running it for 5,000 miles now. It is absolutely identical....except that the hanger for the EVAP purge solenoid is in the middle, just as you might expect on a side winder. I just cut that off and zip tied my EVAP valve to the left rear. I think it was Spawne32 that put us on to this over at this thread.

maybe i am misinterpreting but I bought the Integrated Engineering manifold. Is it similar to the sidewinder one? My old manifold looked like that but my new one is very different.

lol Sidewinder. I never thought to call it that. I always just called it the transverse manifold. Boggles my mind why they never gave the longitudinal engines the revised design.

No idea. I thought you were comparing the revised OEM Audi intake to the revised OEM VW intake. Only diff is as I noted above. Couldn't comment on the Integrated Engineering mani.

Yea, sidewider = transverse mounted engine, like the average garden-variety front drive grocery getter.

OP question was about an installation guide for the Integrated Engineering intake manifold for the EA888 longitudinal. I presume he has a CAEx engine as IE says the manifold is not compatible with CPMx flex-fuel engines.

IE clearly has no installation guide on their web site for the object. I feel that says a lot about a company. While they do have a channel at YouTube, they do not appear to have any installation videos, at least not for this topic.

As for the supporting hardware, there's four different kits, so you need to be sure to get the EA888 longitudinal kit, https://performancebyie.com/collecti...2-longitudinal

There are other videos on YouTube, and if you're familiar with dismounting and mounting the OE intake manifold, I imagine it's not that hard to piece together what needs to happen. Still, proper installation guide or video should still be expected.

ShopDap doing it to a EA113 transverse, https://youtu.be/KlcgzE6WTpM , and someone else doing it to a EA888 longitudinal, https://youtu.be/cotoyFgSdc4

man I look lazy now huh. Yeah I def did the research. Got all the right parts, double triple checked. They sent me a 10AN fitting that was just ORB to flare. When I needed 8AN ORB to barb. It was just a mess. I watched the shop dap, Bruce custom motors, I even watched it get installed on Golfs, etc looking for anything that would help me. I got it on ok eventually but yeah. For how nice their products are you expect instructions. Especially if you put a card in the product box stating instructions will be available then yeah I do expect them to be there. It was my first time doing a job like that but when you are missing hardware and people playing the blame game back and fourth it burns up valuable time. Even when I ordered the item originally they forgot to include the velocity stack cover. That should have been my first warning this job was going to be exhausting. It was a nightmare to say the least. And it shouldn’t have been!

powerband is much more solid. adds a bit of linearity to it.
