    Audi Q5 B9 (FY) modifications

    Hello guys,

I have just recently sold my Stage 2 Audi A5 B9 FWD (190hp) and bought an Audi Q5 B9 (FY)!

It was running roughly about 270ish HP but decided to jump ship as the terrible wheelspin is horrendous! (And a bonus that my 2nd kid will arrive right after I confirmed the purchase of my Q5!)

Modifications I've done to my car so far are

    - Aftermarket AirIntake
    - Custom Stage 1 Tune
    - H&R Anti-Roll Bar for the Front and Rear
    - Full Body spray inside out in Manhattan Grey

Am currently looking to get Bilstein suspension but it seems to only come with the B6 shocks which is surprisingly disappointing. Have seen quite a number of adjustable springs but am not willing to risk my parts to faster wear and tear with my stock absorbers as it comes with electronic damping.

Also it shares mostly with the same platform as my previous car but when it comes to aftermarket options, it's so scarce that I have literally nothing much to modify (Even the Q5 8R variant has a ton of mods available!)

I have noticed that the forum don't really have alot of topics on the Q5, rather mostly are the SQ5.

First question I've been wondering, are there any modifications available here that can be retrofitted with other platforms as I've heard that it shares the same as the A6 C7?

That said, this is my first post as a member of Audizine!

Welcome to the unpopular tuner’s car car club!

I have some B9 A4 parts on mine: 034 High Flow Cat and Unitronic Stage 2 ECU/TCU tunes, and Revo charge pipes.

Attempted to fit Revo intercooler but mine has a radiator shutter in the way. If yours doesn’t have the radiator shutter you can fit the Revo intercooler (saw another guy in Singapore with the intercooler on his).

I went through the same issue with waiting for Bilstein B8 shocks. I went with KWV3 coilovers.

I haven’t heard of any A6 parts fitting, what have you seen fitted from that platform?

    Hello!

Hahaha yes apparently I can see the reason why aftermarket manufacturers are touching the SQ5 variant, neglecting the Q5 ones. I can't find the forum that happened to mention someone installing an Audi A6 C7 platform Bilstein B8 on the Q5/SQ5, creating his own "B12" with the eibach pro kit springs mated for the Q5. Thus am seeking the forums to see if anyone has done such mod since Q5/SQ5 are the same platform.

    Hey!

I am also in the same boat as you are. I am taking ownership of my 2022 Q5 tomorrow.

Before taking delivery of the car, it will be lowered on ABT H.A.S with 15/20mm spacers for the time being. I will also have the front calipers painted black with white Brembo stickers (verified front calipers to be from Brembo before doing this) and swapping out the front rotors to a slotted/drilled one with a dust-less brake pad.

I have a set of HRE S101 21x10.5 which are awaiting new tires to arrive in about a month. I've also ordered ABT shifter, ABT engine start button, and black rings. I will be de-badging everything on the car (including S-line fender badges) but leaving the black rings.

I saw 034 Motorsports has a turbo muffler delete, wondering if anyone has experience with this?

Since the Q5 is just my daily fuel efficient 2.0T, I won't be doing any engine modifications. I have a supercharged widebody W204 C63 if I feel the need for some fun and speed.

Looking forward to hearing from fellow Q5 2.0T mods!
