P2017 Code after replacing air intake manifold on T2.0

    Hello All,
New to the forum. A2 T2.0 2008, 66,650 miles currently.

The intake manifold (p2015 code)was replaced under warranty about 5 years ago.
Recently the code has came back, I can clear it, and again it comes back.
Out of warranty, so dealer is not helpful

So following the online chatter and utube videos,
I replaced the intake manifold with the updated manifold ( from FCP) and new injectors (Audi VW Fuel Injector Kit - 06H906036PKT )
It was a fun and challenging adventure.
Also cleaned (scrapped) the carbon build up.

After installing and clearing the old P2015 code. It runs great, but a P2017 code now comes up.
    Intake Manifold Runner Position Sensor/Switch....

The manifold is brand new, latest upgrade audi VW Intake Manifold - Genuine Audi VW 06J133201BH

I have exhausted all option, cleaned the MAF, confirmed the flaps work, installed the new vacuum vent, etc.
    Re-checked all connections, etc.

Any ideas or suggestions, is it possible for the new manifold to be bad.
Recode the injectors? I do have a VAG-COM interface to scan, etc.

    Thanks in advance

    Billm

Hi SV, I did find that link.
In the meantime, I ran the VAG-COM flapper motor adaptation, but to no avail.
From that link, they mention a possible electrical fault.
For a Q&D last minute check ( yes, always check the easiest and most obvious), I un-pluged the connector to the flapper motor,
check it over and re-seated, being very careful. Wasn't to bad to access, remove oil filter,
and with picks unplug an almost unreachable connector.

Low and behold, I cleared the codes and checked the flapper motor adaptation, and it was there!!!!
Took for a test run, turned off. then on again and code is gone.
Problem solved, at least till the next code ( eta 2-3 months seem to be the average)

Glad you solved it. Seems tedious. And yeah those cars are headaches.
