Full Carbon Roof RS5

Has anyone else seen this yellow RS5 with a full carbon roof? Didnt know this was an option...

Picture is a screenshot from a video on Instagram. Looks black in this screen shot but in the video it clearly shows full carbon with no moonroof.

That Instagram account belongs to a German car dealership. The full carbon fiber roof is an option in Europe. It's not available here due to roll over regulations.

You can tell it's not a wrap because the roof is a solid piece. If it was a wrap, you'd see the seam for the glass portion of the roof.

Some cars sold in U.S. have full carbon fiber roofs. For example, the Lexus RC-F with the carbon fiber pkg is one. I think the Lexus LC500 with carbon fiber pkg also has full carbon roof.

The previous generation M3 and M4 also had full carbon fiber roofs available as an option. However, the RS5 couldn't meet roll over standards with its carbon fiber roof.

You’re going to hate me saying this, but Audi AG simply put: can’t be fucked. They continue time and time again to show that they really couldn’t care if their cars come over with the ability to be the best “version” of themselves.

As others hinted, close competitors BMW and MB have brought over various features that Audi just didn’t care to include on $75K+ MSRP RS cars. For the B8.5s, it was lane assist, folding mirrors, carbon roof, hill hold assist, euro bucket “wingback” seats.

Not sure why they don’t do this, other than perhaps shear cost (due to the currency exchange and entry point into the NA market) or CBF on US regulations — even though competitors have again somehow figured out how to get US approval.

If you’re determined, I’m sure it can be retrofitted. Like all things, it just takes a little bit of $$$.

I have always hated what we get stuck with over here via Audi USA. I give them credit for finally bringing over the RS6 Avant, and I will absolutely forgive them if they ever bring the RS4 avant over; but why can I have 'sporty' red leather seats in my B9 S4, but loose that option moving up the ladder to the even sportier B9 RS5????? Our option/color offerings over here are a joke compared to ROW, and for the love of god let me remove the Pano Roof option from my builds!
