Anyone Have Experience with EBC Yellowstuff Pads?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Hey guys,

Like the title says, does anyone have experience with EBC Yellowstuff? I heard they changed the compound in 2020 which I'm not sure if that's for better or worse

Either way I've never used them and looking for some honest reviews.

I would like to run these as I track the car in some HPDE events occasionally. I have read about some loud squeaks and squeals with these that even after the break in period people just couldn't seem to get rid of.

This is my worry. I would hate to have to swap pads out back and fourth from the track. I have high hopes for these, but I'm not willing to deal with regular loud and embarrassing squealing on the road. A one off one here and there sure, but consistent noise is a deal breaker.

Just looking for more info before I pull the trigger.

    Thanks!

Everything I've read about them indicates that while they might be good on the track, they don't last, and destroy your rotors. As far as street use goes, get ready for some major noise and brake dust. Search YouTube, there are some good reviews from our platform.

Ive had them along with zimmerman rotors on my car for a few thousand miles now. They do OK for street, they are harsh on the rotors and they are noisy when stopping from higher speeds.

Eventually I'm planning on either putting OEM back on or doing something else.. maybe come spring time

Running HPS 5.0, 034 discs, and neuspeed SS lines and couldn’t that setup more. Took it out on the local twisties yesterday and it was great

I actually like the EBC pads. I prefer the yellow to the red. I do drive hard (I am about to put my 5th set of pads and 3rd set of OEM rotors on the car at 65k miles). Make sure to follow the bedding instructions or the pads will not work well. They don’t make noise for me.

I have not used the EBC on the track as my S4 isn’t a track toy. I have another car for that (Pagid pads).

I used Hawk pads on my e46 M3 years ago and they were great too. They worked on the street and track, but my wife hated driving it because of the “squeaking”.

I've used Redstuff ceramics on a number of platforms, good enough for a random track day here and there but a better pad for regular hard street driving w/ a lot less dust than stock.

Redstuff + slotted rotors + SS lines is a night and day difference on a anything that isn't already a super high performance setup stock. Ran hard for 15K miles on my S3 w/on any issues and plenty of pad life left when it was traded in.

Carbotech is a brand I have been hearing more and more of lately while researching. What pad by them specifically would you recommend? Again, I am looking for as aggressive as I can get away with without the extra noise.
