Did anyone try Castrol GTX oil?

I might get some at cheaper price than Castrol Edge LL. Thought I might give it a go.

Does it really clean any better than regular oils?

If its not 100% synthetic I wouldnt use it in the turbo Audi...

I personally have used Shell Rotella T6 Full Synthetic and its cleans very well.

    2015 S3 with 210,000 miles with new 2019 Q5 motor. Still going!

I wouldn’t use anything that isn’t synthetic and doesn’t have the proper manufacturer specifications ..

Uhhh... guys GTX is "fully synthetic" oil. At least here in Germany and UK.

The only GTX oil that is "partially synthetic" is CASTROL GTX 15W-40 A3/B3

The one Castrol recommends as EDGE alternative for me is CASTROL GTX 5W-30 C3 which is fully synthetic. With VW504 standard. Its offered here in Germany as alternative when you use "oil finder for my car" on Castrol website :)

Check out the description on their UK site https://www.castrol.com/en_gb/united...l#tab_5w-30-c3

    Does it differ in America?

Shell is actually a secret oil supplier to Audi in some countries where Castrol is absent or hard to find. So that is most likely a good choice :)

    UPDATE:

Yes I went ahead and checked the USA Castrol website. You basically dont have the GTX oils we have in Europe. In USA GTX oils are different and possibly only partially synthetic.

Here in Europe the GTX oils again are all (except A3/B3) fully synthetic.

The oil is 100% safe to use since the website recommended it and it has VW504 standard

    We cleared that confusion :)
