    B9 S4 Power Mods Recommendation?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Hey guys, I have a B9 S4 and am currently running an AWE switchpath exhaust with down pipes, and a stage 1 APR 93 octane tune. I’m looking to make some more power without compromising reliability too much and would like to refrain from buying a hybrid turbo. I’m wondering if my best options next are just to buy an intercooler and intake to be FBO or if there is another route I should take. This is my first car that’s not stock, so I consider myself pretty new to the whole process but I love it. Any brand recommendations would also be good for the most gains. Thanks!

PM sent. These cars love a FMIC and we always recommend the Wagner FMIC and charge pipe kit.

+1 on what Chris offered. Got the kit he is offering when it was first offered. Bought the p34 intake so I didn’t destroy my stock air box and so I can run stage 2 93 from EPL. Also don’t care about carbon fiber under the hood when 99.9% of the time you don’t see.

    My upgrade progression is…
    Awe switchpath exhaust
    EPL stage 1 93/tcu
    Wagner Intercooler and charge pipe
    P34 cold air intake
    EPL stage 2 93

Waiting on the new features of anti lag and launch control from EPL :)

If you have access to E85, jump on Chris's deal above and run the E40 tune. Completely different compared to what you have now.

When it comes to getting more power out of your B9 S4, you are on the money in terms of looking for an upgraded intake and intercooler. The Wagner Intercooler is what we run our our cars in-house and what we recommend to all of our customers. These are proven units and are great for both daily driving and track use.

When it comes to intakes, we offer the X34 and P34 Intakes. These intakes will perform and sound very similarly, though are made of two different materials; Plastic and Carbon Fiber. Your choice of intake here will largely be based upon whether you'd like the cost-effective P34 plastic version, or X34 Carbon Fiber intake.

Lastly, if you're interested in switching, we offer 25% off MSRP to all of our customers interested in switching over to our 034Motorsport Dynamic+ Tuning! We developed this tuning to deliver the best experience in terms of drivability and refinement, power delivery, and features. We've had many customers switch over to our tuning from your current tune, and they're all incredibly happy with the decision. We also offer a 30-day money-back guarantee!

All 034Motorsport Hardware products are also on sale thru 12/6 for Black Friday!

The good news is that we have a plethora of options for bolt-ons.

Intercooler: Wagner or APR probably offer the best intercooler on the market, but IE, AWE, & Unitronic also offer great options.
Intake: APR has a very nice one-piece unit that is soon to be released, but IE, AWE, 034, Eventuri, Unitronic and Carbnlabs also offer great options.
Downpipe:. Wagner and 034 probably offer the best catted options, whereas I'd recommend Carbnlabs for a catless downpipe. As a note, this is not a massive power adder for most tunes and will throw a CEL with an APR tune.

All in all, the differences between each brand may garner a 5 HP gain or loss. Personally, I went with the best bang for the buck, which led me to the CTS intercooler, 034 P34 intake, and soon to be a 034 downpipe.
