    DSG problems ?

    Hi
In my Audi S3 2010 8p DSG 6 with 120.000 km, since a few months there is a ''clack'' noise when changing from P to D and vice versa. Sometimes I can hear the same sound at traffic lights. I am wondering how I can know if it is a mechatronic issue or a possible problem in the Dual mass flywheel. My mechanic did not find any code errors. In the local Audi dealership, I also went for a check they did not find anything, they only changed the oils of the gearbox.

I had similar CLUNK on my 09 A3. It felt like a delay in the gear switching. I had to replace my rear main seal and while there I check the flywheel. There was almost 1in play. I replaced it and the clunk is gone. My car was with 142k miles at the time.

    P. S. I also had a mechanic replace the flywheel on my first A3. That one had 112k miles.

Unfortunately there are no codes for this . You need to drop the transmission to inspect it.

How much $ would you part with to have this done?

The flywheel is around $450-500. It took me 2-3 days to do it on jack stands.

The mechanic charged me $1600 for the job. Labor, rms and flywheel.
