Which tune are you running?

So since i got my IE dongle just last year and theyre requiring the purchase of a v4 to tune the B9, I'm not doing business with them again - to me that is trash, whether my opinion on that is right or wrong, i think it's bush league to not offer a firmware update on their end for people that just bought the V3.

Id like to get a tune while theyre all offering black friday deals.

Which tune are you guys running? I'm looking at the 034.

Experiences and recommendations are appreciated.

I’m running IE full tcu and ecu currently. I have 0 complaints. It runs super strong. I can understand your irritation about the cable. I am a bit irritated with IE that they charge an “upgrade” to “stage 2” to essentially turn a light off for aftermarket down pipes and give you crackles. No performance increases. It’s just weird.

I bought a 034 cable previously but they screwed up my tune order previously and I went with IE instead.

That said I just took advantage of switch over pricing and will give 034 another shot. FOMO I guess.

I feel like there is only 3 companies who have continued development for the platform. EPL , 034 and IE. The rest tuned and ran.

I 2nd EPL, couldnt be happier with the reliability, performance, and best of all....

Tony and Chris go above and beyond, even after work hours. It feels like they are a 24 hour customer support center.

They are also pushing out updates left and right, and to add to everything all updates are included.

I can't say I've run EPL for comparison but I do hear great things. That said, I'm extremely happy with the 034 tune I have and the company as a whole. The tune does everything I could possibly want it to do and it does it well and smoothly.

There's an EPL thread on here, they don't have a website to view those details unfortunately.

By RS start up do you mean sweeping dash? If so, you can change that using VCDS / Carista / OBD11, that isn't changed by a tune.

Carista is probably your cheapest option. I use it. You can enable all sorts of changes in the MMI system even developer screens. There are 11 different startup screens to change the look as well make the gauges sweep. You can turn off DRLs, turn off seat belt chimes, turn off the Auto start/stop function ect. Ive heard VCDS has a few more options, but Carista is pretty inexpensive. I borrowed the bluetooth dongle from a buddy and subscribed to carista ....its $10 per month cancel anytime. So take a month to make your changes and then cancel the subscription. Re-up anytime you want to go back in. The dongle is universal so its not licensed per car.

I've been running EPL and will continue running EPL. They have let their tune (and customer service) speak for itself. The only other tuner I would consider for this platform is IE, for similar reasons to why I run EPL. Put simply, some vendors LOVE talking about competitors and even talking DOWN about competitors. Neither EPL or IE have done that from what I've seen so it makes it easy to support them.

We're not out here to make the fastest tune, but rather one that perfectly balances drivability, usability, and performance as well as features.

EPL since 11/30/2020. I just happened to look up my purchase date when I saw this thread ha. That was some interesting timing.
I think it was my Christmas gift to myself last year.
I bought the Wagner FMIC from EPL on Feb 1, 2020, and the TCU tune on March 3, 2021.

Running 034 stage 1 and love it every second. My best 0-60mph - 3.69s. Smooth as stock and a lot more power than stock. Moving to stage 2 after the winter to run low 11 at 93 fuel.

Our Record Run was done with entirely Public Stage 2 R2.0 ECU tuning and our upcoming Stage 2 TCU tune that is imminently released, no "hot tune" as you called it.

Our customers running completely public files are #2 and #3 for the fastest and quickest S4s and S5s on stock turbo, with less overall modification. We are confident that with the release of our Stage 2 TCU, many of our customers will join us in the world of 10-second 1/4 mile times.

You certainly do not have to believe us when we say we're running public files, but it certainly would not benefit us to falsify a run with non-production files as we feel it is important that our customers be able to perform the same as us.
