My windshield wipers stopped working I checked the fuse it’s still good

Looks like it’s a common problem is it usually the motor that’s the issue ???

I just picked up a used wiper linkage assembly with motor off ebay and put it in, takes about 30 minutes. You will need a wiper arm removal tool.

We had a B6 A4 where one of the wiper arm spindles became seized due to exposure to the elements. Just needed a new linkage assembly, old motor was fine. Easy enough to swap out. --g

Disconnect the motor from the linkage and see if you can manually move the linkage. Also operate the wiper motor when disconnected and see if the motor turns.

Also check the wiper motor fuse. (do this first). Brown fuse panel fuse #9 30 amp.

You obviously have to disconnect the linkage and test the motor.

This is common on all Audis once the mileage gets up there..
Linkage seizes. I disassemble the linkage clean it up and regrease. But they are cheap to replace.

This happened to me the other day. Putting the wipers into service mode fixed it.

One would think a simple scan, step 1 for electrically managed operations issues, would point out such things.
The windshield wiper motor J400 is on a LIN bus with the G397 RLS, managed by the J519. There are probably output tests for the J400 in the J519 (address 09).
And regarding the stalk, just monitor the measuring values in the J527 (steering controls, address 16) as you manipulate the stalk to see what the J527 is registering and passing to the J519.
If the car thought the hood latch was open, he should have the hood open warning diagram in the DIS.

Also, running with Nano's comment, using the menu system to put the wipers into service position would bypass the need to evaluate the operation of the stalk.

It ended up being the hood sensor even though the hood was closed it was showing open hood which wouldn’t allow the wipers to come on
