    StopTech Sport Pads vs Yellowstuff

I know there are tons of pad threads out there already but they’re mainly focused on low dust/daily applications, also know there's no perfect middle ground of daily/track pads but I'm just looking for something that won't fall on its face after 1 lap, don't mind dust or squeal. Which would you choose between the two, ST Sports or Yellowstuff? I haven't really seen many reviews on the Sport pads for this platform, maybe a small handful on FB saying they're great, others saying they rattle and have dangerously no bite when cold. Not really a fan of having to wait 1k miles with the EBC's to properly bed them though, I only drive 3k a year so that's a long time for me. Does anyone have experience with the StopTech pads? I'm curious what you think of them. Thanks

Is there a reason you're only considering ST and EBC? I had bad luck with yellow stuff at the track- I overheated them very quickly. I've never tried ST.

For something that is still mildly streetable, I had really good luck with Hawk HP+, zimmerman blanks and RBF 600 fluid. There is dust and some squeal, but it's not bad.

I eventually went to CarboTech XP10 and XP12 and they are great at the track, but horrible on the street in regards to dust and squeal. On the XP10, cold performance is not great, but it doesn't feel unsafe. I don't think the XP12s should regularly be used on the street.

Thanks for the input, yeah I’m looking to buy from FCP and these are the only 2 cost effective performance pads they offer. I figured if the ST pads come with their BBKs they must be good enough. It looks like they’re rated up to 1400° but the 5.0’s go up to 750°. I don’t think FCP has a Hawk vendor though so don’t think that can happen. I’ve had bad luck with EBC too, granted I had redstuff but they crumbled apart after a day of novice laps. Kinda what led me to the StopTechs. As much as I’d like a set of track only pads I’ll only be doing maybe 2 HPDE’s a year. Maybe I’ll give the ST’s a go, if they’re bad I’ll just return them. I do wish there was more feedback on these pads, I can hardly find any posts on them.

Weird. I have the redstuff on my car now and I’ve done stops from 120-130 and they handled it fine. Never noticed any fading issues (at least on the street)

My first real time at the track (before I knew anything about brakes), I had redstuff on my car- huge mistake. The pads deposited on the rotors after a couple of laps and the vibration was crazy. I had to take it very easy the rest of the day.

For track duty, here is my ranking: red stuff < factory Audi < yellow stuff < Hawk HP+ < Carbotech XP10 < Carbotech XP12

I'd also be interested in hearing about the StopTechs. If you try them and have good results, let us know. What track is your HPDE at?

Ummm.... did you let them break in by using them lightly for about 200-500 miles then break them in after that? My oem pads and rotors couldn’t handle the heat. I have raybestos street performance regular rotors and EBC red stuff and they very noticeably have better stopping power and fade resistance.

For sure, I go to Atlanta Motorsports Park. Luckily it's not that bad on brakes as some other tracks, there's really only 3 hard braking zones spread out. I'm gonna add a pair of those ECS ducts and trim the dust shields to only cover the bushings so hopefully that'll help also.

CarboTech XP10 and XP12 are track pads. Of course, they aren't suitable for daily driving, but I personally like them very much for track days.

    StopTech Sport Pads vs Yellowstuff

Ended up getting the Yellowstuff, sadly FCP wasn’t able to source the StopTechs. We’ll see how they do, the trimmed dust shields and air ducts should help cool them down a bit.

    StopTech Sport Pads vs Yellowstuff

Scratch that, got Ferodo DS2500’s instead. Not sure how I didn’t see those. From all the reviews I’ve read these seem like a fantastic street/light track pad, I’m excited to see how they perform!

Yep got some RBF600! Just got done with the pads and rotors all that’s left is bleeding, and wow the redstuff’s I had on just disintegrated. Ik they’re a street pad but I’m surprised they couldn’t hold up better to a few slow laps, I wasn’t hard on them at all. Don’t think I’ll be buying anything EBC again lol.
