Questions for those with Bilstein shocks and H&R springs!

Have some questions for those running the Bilstein B8 shocks with H&R springs. I recently installed these and have a clunking sound going over sudden dips in the road and the ride became a bit harsh with the colder weather. I did some research and now have a few questions.

    1. Does this set up make noises such as clunks going over big dips? Over little things in the road, it is quiet.

    2. Did you have the bump stops trimmed? I installed new ones and didn’t trim them.

I have an SQ5 but have no such noise. If you didn't cut your bump stops that's likely your problem.

I did not cut my bump stops, and I don’t have such noise. I have H&M’s oe sports w/ b8 shocks. Make sure your bolts are tight would be my suggestion.

I had to torque down the rear after install because I forgot to torque them. That was the only noise I had.

How much did you trim off? The instructions in the H&R springs said no trimming of the bumper stops were needed but that's with the OEM struts I'm assuming. Bolts should be good. I used all new bolts and remember torqueing everything down.

I've got B8 shocks and H&R Sports, no clunks or anything. I didn't mess with the bump stops either. Something must not be right with the installation, mines been perfect for well over a year. Look around for loose bolts first, the only clunking issue I've had from the front turned out to be one of the sway bar brackets was slightly loose.

Hey there, I had my b8.5 from 35k to 100k
Here some areas where it could be coming from.
Did u change the front upper shock mount ? (034 has street density)
That usually causes clunks and a lot of people don’t change them as they don’t know about them.

Don't Bilstein B8's have internal bump stops?
