ecu circuit board diagrams or repair

Hey - anyone know where I can find component level diagrams for the ECU board on a 2012 B8/A4? Alternatively, has anyone used a reliable company for ECU repair that they would recommend? The ECU died on my buddy's B8. Trying to sort repair instead of replacing and having to code.

The part number for the ECU is:
    audi ecu part# 8K2907115AG
    Benzin med17.1
    engine code CAEB
    Bosch part#0261S06948

These guys might be able to repair.it for you: https://www.speedosolutions.com/2009...5-B8_c_68.html

I used them to code a new cluster when I swapped for the red DIS to color.

I'm currently having a similar problem, looks like the website that @elscotto80 recommended has an option for reprograming our ECU's (a4 b8). I also gave the dealership a call and they said that they could probably do it, they said there's just no guarantee that they can. However I've heard from a few people that the dealership was able to reprogram a used ECU for them so I'm sure they can. They said it would cost around $170 FYI.

Probably better off buying a used one of eBay with the same part number and reprogram that one though since there relatively cheap, instead of trying to repair the one you have now.

$170 seems pretty low from a dealership. I think they quoted me $450, 2 years ago to reprogram a ignition lock module (i'm in california) on a 2012 A7. I would expect this to be around the same price. I've found here the dealership is just quoting an hourly rate and not really looking into how long it will take to do the work. $170 for coding is a steal (get it in writing).

I don't disagree with you about getting used one and reprogramming. I also see an option to repair online around $170 plus your shipping cost to them. If the board is repairable, it is likely only a few inexpensive parts that are toast. If I had the diagrams/parts, I could swap myself or have a local tv/repair shop do it. Probably got the repair route by sending it as scouring the internet didn't leave any good results for schematics/pcb diagrams. But seems like a common enough issue/failure point so was hoping someone had tried it or found something.

The company I am thinking of using for ecu repair is: https://siaelec.com/product/audi-a4-...repair-return/ They said they will honor the price they have on ebay which is $170.0. https://www.ebay.com/itm/223971440181

Just for reference in case anyone is looking at repairs.

Apart from long coding, what's required to make a (used) replacement ECM work correctly ? Component protection ? Adaptations that aren't listed in a VCDS scan ?

If long coding is sufficient, I'd consider lkqonline: https://www.lkqonline.com/2012-audi-...le/-hj3DPOcn4O

you can't do this via VCDS. As far as I know, coding for modules like ecm, keys, ignition lock, require odis and direct connection to audi. Only dealership and certain independents that pay the extra $$ have access. I think there are also ways to clone from one to another using specialty tools/software.

I'll second what elscotto80 posted. Give Speedosolutions a call. I used them to code a new center display with my ECU. Inexpensive and worked fine.

    @old guy @elscotto80

I gave them a call a bit ago. Nice guy, I would recommend if you have something in his wheel house. He doesn't do component level repair and he can't do a clone since the board doesn't power up/is fried. If I pull the immobilizer (on the steering column) and send it with a donor ecu and the key, he could do it but I'll keep looking for alternative options. At this point a company that knows how to do the repair, or just program a replacement seem to be the only options. Still holding out that someone has component info for the board they are willing to share. thanks for all the suggestions.

Just to post an update. Gave up on trying to find diagrams and see if the ECU could be repaired. Bought a used ecu off ebay for $70.00 then paid a company I use out of the UK about $180usd to code the module remotely. Car is back up and running for around $250.00. Thanks for everyone's input. If anyone does find schematics for the ECU please post them.

I actually ended up knowing a guy that worked at the dealership and he reprogramed the used ECU with the same PN in like 30 minutes and for a hundred bucks lol. But If I didn't know him I would've been waiting forever to get it done since all the dealerships around me are backed up for weeks. But they can definitely do it and only should charge an hour of labor. (as long as you put the ECU in yourself).

So maybe post the name of the company that can flash the ecu remotely.
