Nice! Thanks for posting. The two smaller resonators seem like a no-brainer however, I'm not sure about the larger as it appears to also serve to mix or equalize both banks together(similar to an x-pipe)which is designed to promote a slight power increase.

Yeah, I saw some stuff about that, but honestly with a car that weighs this much and makes 700+ chipped, I don't think a few horsepower up or down really matters. From what I was able to find online, the most aggressive sound would come from straight pipes rather than X or H, so I went with it and am glad I did. The rear muffler also has a crossover

Thanks for the video. Is this exactly what the red star res delete accomplishes? or does it only get rid of the center muffler?

Gets rid of the two front resonators and leaves the center one in place.

Gotcha. Thanks very much. Then there are different Milltek systems - it seems one connects after the down pipes and eliminates the front resonators and the center muffler while providing new mufflers, and one that doesn't eliminate the front resonators and connects after the front resonators... Weird how many options there are.... They shouldn't have put in the resonators or center muffler in the first place!!

Sounds great! You may wanna have an X or H pipe put in place of the straight pipes where the suitcase muffler was. It was an issue on the C7 when straight piping that section you wanted to have air pass through exhaust when the car goes into 4 cylinder mode.

Someone pointed this out on YouTube also. I did some research and do not think this is an issue for the c8. On my rs6, I have dual mufflers, one on each side, and the mufflers crossover connect to each other in the rear. The exhaust pipe from each side dumps into each muffler, and each muffler has a valved exit and a nonvalved exit. So exhaust can always get out of both pipes. It sounds like on the older model, for some reason the valve on one side was upstream of the muffler. This would mean that if you did not have crossover somewhere in the system, one side would be getting blocked off when in comfort mode and the valve was closed. But with the c8 rs6, from everything I can tell there is a straight line path out of the exhaust at all times on both sides even without a crossover.

I'll definitely update if we notice any issues. So far we have put a couple hundred miles on the car and everything seems fine.

Let me know if you know something different though? Getting an x-pipe put in isn't a big deal, but I do really like the sound now

You know, you may be right on that! I believe on the C7 they did have a valve, further upstream on one side of the exhaust creating an issue when the car did go into 4 cylinder mode.

This is a nice cost effective mod!

Why go with the red star resonator delete which is $1200 plus install?

Only reason would be easy to revert to stock...

Thanks for this video. I watched it countless times trying to decide whether to do this mod. I went ahead and bit the bullet at the same place the OP went to. Because I didn't want it too loud, I initially tried just removing the front two resonators. But that didn't make much of a difference, so then I went ahead and deleted the center muffler like everyone else. THAT made a big difference! But it's still not too loud in comfort mode, which I like. You can tell it's a V8, but it's not obnoxious. Then when you put it in RS mode...VROOM. Love it.

How have you been liking it? No regrets? Any drone at speeds? Heavily debating this mod

I had this done a few weeks ago. Sounds like it should have sounded from the factory to begin with. It has a nice growl to the exhaust in RS mode
and sounds stock in comfort mode. No drone just better sounding exhaust.
