    RaceChip vs JB4

I am looking at a simple piggyback just to give a little more power for my 2018 RS5.

In my 2018 and my 2019 C43 I ran the JB4 (actually ran it a few times...selling it, then buying it again) but ultimately sold it as it over boosted the engine and threw the car into limp mode which scared the S$@! out of me. Plus I found the shifts weren't smooth as stock even in comfort and just driving. The benefit of the JB4 I found was the ability to really tweak and change and customize everything if you wanted.

The RaceChip looks great, love the simplicity of it (right now not looking to really tweak, adjust and run different fuel mixtures) but wanted to know if anyone has first hand experience with it. Really wanting to know not only if there is noticeable gains (butt dyno) but how is just daily driving? Smooth acceleration and gear changes?

    Thanks so much everyone.

I installed the Racechip GTS last month and am very happy with it. Install was very easy and it made a huge difference. Car pulls so much harder now and shifts are still silky smooth. Highly recommend it. I posted some more info on it in this thread

Thank you so much for the reply, I really appreciate it.

For me the shifts are almost as important as the power gains. As mentioned the JB4 in my C43's gave me the power but the shifts were terrible (but TBH the shifts on the RS5 stock are SOOOO much smoother then my C43 at stock)

    Thanks again Scott.

Scott, can you hear the turbo spooling louder? Or are all the sounds the same.

Just put on JB4 2 weeks ago have no affiliation with them. If anything it was the opposite of your C43. The car drives exactly as it did as stock with an extra 75hp~. Shifts just as smooth quick, launches great, all in all quite happy with it for the price. 2019 RS5 Coupe

Thats awesome to hear. It was pretty rough on the C43. But the stock shifts on the RS5 are so smooth compared to even the stock shifts on the C43. Just bought a RC GTS Black, so we'll see how that is :)

On the RS5 we have autoshift boost redux on the JB4 where we bring the boost close to stock for the shifts and you wont get the rough shifts that conventional piggy backs have.
I will follow up on the Merc issue as I dont work on those models and only do VAG Group cars exclusively and see why its not something implemented.
