    Fault Codes, Fault Codes

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
OK, twice now I've triggered a check engine light and triggered multiple fault codes when mashing the accelerator. Relevant mods:
    • APR Plus
    • 034 intake
    • CETE valve control

I'm trying to suss out if its the tune or the car independent of the tune. The most recent "event" resulted in these codes as detected by OBEleven (man is that little tool useful). Here are the four codes (Pics added for posterity):
    • Engine: P24D600
    • Gateway: U112400
    • Multimedia: U111100
    • Driver Assistance: C1106F1

I can clear all the codes and they stay cleared...until I repeat the pedal mashing and trigger them.

Codes and check engine light don't always get triggered. Car seems to drive just fine after the check engine light goes on and codes get triggered. Ambient temps were in the mid 80s. Searched online for "OBDEleven" and each code...nothing.

So, thoughts? is this an "APR" issue? Native car issue?

    Cheers!

While I don't get a check engine light I get the Gateway, Multimedia and driver assistance fault pretty much every time I scan car with my odb11. You should try just scanning when you don't have a CEL and see if they pop up. It's probablt the engine fault that is causing the CEL. My car has Racechip Piggyback tune, AWE intake, Miltek semi resonated exhaust with valve control and have never got a CEL

I am going to guess you need to check your intake again. Try putting the standard one back, and see if it comes back up.

UPDATE: or rather, not much of an update. I've been dealing with some health issues the last couple weeks that has interfered with me getting this sorted. I can say that I think I've narrowed down the check engine light to the EVAP System (Fault Code: P24D600) as this is the only one that would make sense. I'm admittedly not an expert in this area, so I'm probably wrong. I can say that the car's performance does't seem to be impacted once the check engine light comes on. I'm not going to ignore it, of course. I need to figure out where to go next. There are two realistic:
    • Dealership: I'm already TD1 so no (additional) concerns there. Wouldn't an issue with the EVAP System be covered in this case? Or rather, does an APR tune mean AoA will deny warranty work on the EVAP System?
    • APR Dealership: Guaranteed to cost me $$$, with possibility (likelihood?) that the shop won't find anything

I just don't know enough about this study to know what to do next

FWIW, the other codes relate to a camera in some way...I think. All the camera's seem to work fine as far as I can tell, though. One thing at a time....

...did a web search and found this thread about a similar problem that apparently was caused by bad turbo check valves (see post #134).

Haven't read the entire thread yet, but does seem to address the same issue I have. Next stop, dealership. Though that will happen AFTER Audi solves the faulty fuel gauge problem in our A6 Allroad.

I think you told me that you are in Carlsbad now. So, there is a shop here in Laguna Hills called Pacific German. I know the owner Shawn, and I sold my R32 to his son who also is a mechanic in the shop. They are of a few shops that actually have official VWAG diagnostic tools (they do VW, Audi, Porsche, Lambo). Local dealerships actually send cars to this shop if they can't figure it out. They did that S4/S4 Avant swap before.

Anyway, if you really need someone who knows what to do, then you might try this shop. Just mention that I was the one who sold the R32 to them.

Indeed, I am in Carlsbad, CA now. Thanks for the suggestion/referral. Will let you know if that is the route I go.

I live 3,000 miles away, but based on https://www.audizine.com/forum/showt...fic-German-RS5, I think Shawn at Pacific German is a great recommendation. He clearly has a love for B9 RS5s.

He's had a couple of R8's too, and one of them had the supercharger installed on the V10. Going to his shop is like going to a candy store. It's full of really nice cars!

Yeah, I've gotten the P24D6 CEL code when giving my 2019 rs5 the beans. I do not believe this is an APR specific issue as I've not pulled the trigger on APR yet myself, and am getting this stock. Troubleshooting, seemed to happen more if the engine was not over 200F at the time of giving her the full beans, but now that the outside ambient temperature has dropped, have not had it trigger at all, so was more specific to the summer months of higher ambient temperature. Have been waiting for a more opportune time to trigger this and take it into the dealership to work on under warranty before throwing APR on. Can clear the code with Bluedriver (I'll switch to obd eleven one of these days), and there is no noticeable performance issue when the code does pop.

Did you find resolution? The little i've found, sees valve or hose replacement was the remedy.

Like you, I clear the code (OBDEleven) and haven't noticed any impact on the car in any way.

I've done some half assed web searches and found reference to the N80 EVAP Purge valve being the issues. although, this is from an older thread (will have to look for it again). I'm not sure the issue was exactly the same. I've tried figure out what the part number would be for my RS5 and been unsuccessful. That's as far as I've gotten as I've been quite busy (damn job).

I hear that - given it's not popped on again with the cooler temperature, may not be getting it addressed till next spring/summer, when I do, I'll let you know re: dealership and parts/remedy. I found more information searching online for the issue for the 2.9t, brought up more from the porsche community with the exact issue. First happened to me the day after I bought mine as a cpo from the audi dealer here, called immediately and they were like: Alright, we can get you in to leave the car in a couple weeks. Since then, yep, work.

I am experiencing the same fault code on the EVAP purge valve.

Issue has been ongoing and repaired 4x since September 2021. Audi service replaced multiple components related to the issue but cannot seem to fix it.
    Service center replaced:
    -evap solenoid sensor
    -harness overlay
    -ecu
-another harness overlay (3 wires directly from ecu to sensor)

Yesterday, I experienced the same fault - was able to drive 700miles without turning on CEL. CEL turns on usually during high load/ aggressive driving upshifting in Manual.

I will be requesting/ starting the process on the buy back with Audi North America as this will be the 5th time in for issue.

    Vehicle info-
    2019 RS5 Sportback
Mods: AWE intake and Milltek exhaust

Whenever I go to dealer, I remove the awe intake and the code still appears without it.

Anyways, hate to let this car go, but I’ll be selling my AWE intake without lid and Milltek Race exhaust soon. I’ve only had these items on for a few months. I’ll be posting these up for sale once removed and cleared for buy back.

Let me know what happens with your vehicle …

Update on the fault code. I intentionally "triggered" the issue the day before bringing our RS5 in for regular maintenance. Described to the service advisor the conditions that brought the check engine light.
Turned out to be a faulty purge valve. Audi replaced the lines and valve.

    Per repair doc:
    • Cause: GFF not supported by a time punch
    • 20241945 ACF Valve remove and install 449 WA03
    • Part: 06M-133-240-CJ

Pic shows summary of the work done. Seems to have solved the problem.

BTW, I'm TD1, and Audi covered the repair, no questions or issues.

Got the same code today. Wanted to check with you if the code ever came back after the fix? Thanks in advance!

Seems to be a common problem with the RS5. Got an evap code that repeatedly went away and came back after flooring it on my '19 SB. Dealer found the n80 valve to be the issue and had it replaced under warranty. Hasn't come back since then.

Just got the car back from the dealership. They had to replace the “tank ventilation pressure sensor.”

    Repair summary attached.

Did a few hard pulls after I picked up. No fault codes or check engine lights. 4FFD9708-1229-4297-92E1-C339B2905CDD.jpg
