Flat bottom steering wheel on 2022 S3

Unfortunately it seems the US 8Y S3s come equipped with a disappointing round steering wheel. This is reflected in the interior shots on the official US Audi website. However, the Canadian Audi website has a flat bottom steering wheel in their interior shots. I searched the Canadian Audi dealerships to see if any had pictures up of their in-stock S3s, and could not find anything but promo photos... which also had flat bottom steering wheels.

If anyone has been to a dealership in Canada to see a new S3, can you confirm or deny if Canada is randomly getting the better steering wheel?

For 2022 they are not available... Round only if I remember correctly. At the moment the car available have pretty standard configuration build and allocated by Audi. Limited color choice etc.

Gonna be a bunch of basic ass used Audis on the market in 3 years. Only going to drive the value of “entheusiast” specced models higher IMO.

Not really, You can get the top trim too but dealers have like 2-3 cars available depending on the size of the dealership.

Waiting for /ordering a particular spec for a car under 150k is for sucker. It's an S3 not a gt3.

I would buy a mk8 r but they are not available at the moment and there only 3 color, 2 transmission and 1 sunroof option available for 2022

Thanks to the pandemic and supply chain problem.

In the UK the round steering wheel comes with driver assistance. The flat bottom steering wheel comes on cars without driver assistance.

In the Canada, they seem to have that driver assistance as standard Damm flat button wheels have the round airbag and the round steering have square airbag. Kinda ironic

For Canada, it depends if you get the Driver's Assistance Package or not.

For S3, if you do, you get the "new" round steering wheel. If you don't, you get the flat bottom steering wheel.

For A3, it is even more complex, there are 3 steering wheels, the base round, the "new" round with the Driver's Assistance Package, and the flat bottom one.

The base round has a circular design in the center whereas the "new" round one has the hexagonal design in the center.

    Hope this helps.
