    Brake pedal squeak

Hey y'all, wondering if anyone had experienced this, and has any remedy suggestions. I assume something just needs to be lubed/greased, but I can't specifically see what and where (sound coming from way under the dash), or what product to use.

My F’in truck just started doing this. So annoying. About ready to just coat the whole pedal area with spray lube.

That's part of my question too, what do you use, WD-40, white lithium, graphite....?

My A3 did this, they replaced the entire rubber boot at the dealership and put lithium grease on it but it came back fairly quickly after that.

I am getting same noise like y'all! When I checked service manual there is no point that I can lubricate :( I will look at the area that pedal press to brake cylinder to see it has any worn out rubber bushing or something else.

Still at the dealership with no diagnosis, but since I originally posted, the noise became accompanied by varying resistance in the brake pedal throughout the range of motion, as if it's catching and releasing, or grinding through rough spots. Makes me think there's more to it than just spraying it with some WD-40.

Alright, well, Audi pretty much told me to fuck off, more on that later, but in the meanwhile, I would like to solicit some info on how hard is it to pull out the brake booster, at the very least for inspection purposes, or potentially for a replacement.

Few months later edit: since they came through and repaired it under warranty, I won't publicly bash them, but feel free to PM me and I'll tell you the story

    Got an update...

Sorry for the terrible quality photo, I'm deployed and that's what the wife sent me but... Dropped the car off, Audi had it for a month, and the wife says they told her they replaced the brake pedal, the pedal pin, the brake booster, and the master cylinder. Not sure if the paperwork reflects their statement. I see the master cylinder was uninstalled and reinstalled, but I don't see a new one ordered. Maybe the dude at the front was mistaken. Will check when I get home eventually....
On a separate note, she says they did a terrible job bleeding it, pedal travels half way before anything happens.... On a good note, they covered everything under warranty, but that was not immediate, as can be seen by timing of the posts.
If anyone can help me decipher the attached photo I would appreciate it.

Mine is squeaking too. Started happening after I did the rotors pads ss lines and new fluid.

I’m worried that my dealer would blame all that stuff on the noise lol. It’s not like that stuff would cause a squeaky pedal though.

Weird. Seems like they couldn’t figure out what was causing the problem, I would think it’s just the hardware on the inside that has to do with the actual pedal but maybe not.

I'm sure you know I have aftermarket rotors, pads, lines, and fluid, but unless it's the fluid that caused it.....I can't see any other components doing it. Which fluid are you using?
Had a friend listen to try and diagnose what it was. Was kind of hard due to exhaust tone, and because it would only really do it in drive, so what I did to narrow it down is put it in drive with the hood open, open the brake fluid reservoir compartment, had a buddy stick his head as close to it as he could, and while the parking brake was on I would fuck with the brake pedal. He said it was definitely coming from the booster.

ATE super blue. Heard it was the best before going to racing brake fluid that doesn’t last very long. You?

Interesting on the brake booster part

Same fluid... Except the fluid doesn't touch the booster, so it doesn't make sense for it to have any effect...

I ran into this issue with by B9 A5 SB immediately after doing the front rotors, pads and fluid. I used ATE Type200 and from the sounds of it, it is not "LV" or Low Viscosity like the OEM fluid. I figured I would re-flush the brakes with OEM fluid to see if the non-LV fluid was creating friction in the master cylinder, but after doing that it is still present. I wonder if there was some ATE left IN the master since the pedal wasn't actuated during the power bleeding process....I didn't want to pump the pedal while I was applying pressure at the reservoir in case something negative were to happen. I might order another 2 liters of OEM fluid and re-flush hoping that some of the ATE in the master has worked it's way out into the system...

    Thoughts?
