    Performance Mods to B8.5 A5 s-line

So I'll have had this car for 1 year this December (2nd owner) - I decided it was time to either commit or GTFO. I got the APR stage 1 tune done six months ago or so, and that made a HUGE difference from bone stock. Yesterday she got: APR FMIC, ECS charge pipes, and APR red coil packs

Once my wallet recovers from that, probably next spring/summer (see how taxes go lol) going to do: exhaust, DP, HFC, stage II tune

I'd say now with what I've done she pulls harder in 3-4k rpm range.

Nice! Could you tell a difference right away with the coil packs? I have been looking at getting those. I just saw today that Cts turbo has some also. I have the R8 coil packs and I couldn't tell if the idle changed or anything. I also did one step colder Ngks at the same time.

Nice, but I don't think you can get a Stage 2 tune from APR anymore. You might need to jump right up to Stage 3 instead.

oh, I'll have to look into that...stage 3 upgraded K04 turbo is the ultimate goal for sure

How much has it chamged the interior sound for you? I just got B8.5 and for the first time in my life (not counting electric cars)...I'm weirdly enjoying the very very quiet engine. I wouldn't mind doing charge pipes and such though so I'm curious to you actually get any real difference in sound in the A5 at all and is it still whisper quiet when at highway speed.

really no change in cabin noise doing these mods - you'd have to be running some kind of intake, BOV, diverter valve, or turbo muffler delete to get that whooosh turbo noise - also a downpipe will make things louder as well

Thanks for the follow up, I've modified many cars over the years, but not one this quiet haha.

yeah I hear ya, I'm coming from MOPAR/HEMI world...from what I've seen/heard an aftermarket downpipe and a turbo muffler delete will get the good sounds flowing

I plan on leaving the downpipe and such stock on this one since I may buy an S5 in a year or so anyway. We'll see though, I imagine a few more mods will creep their way in there and we'll see what happens then haha.

It really is fantastic to drive on the highway though so I don't want to change that part haha. It's like a sensory depravation chamber almost, once you're up to speed haha.
