There was an update to the myAudi app, and in the update it states that included was "Lighting technology". "Connect to your vehicle and you can experience our innovative lighting functions through interactive control".
It also states only offered in combination with matrix LED and remote park assist plus.

After the update, no obvious change and no option even to select. Anybody have any experience with this?

Just saw this and updated the app. I have a 2021 S6 prestige so I have the matrix headlights but I don’t know if my car has the remote parking (I don’t think it does). I’ll report back and let you know what the app says.

I have a ‘21 RS6 and ‘22 Etron GT, and neither car within MyAudi app has any of these new functions available. Am I missing something?

I did see the app update msg though when launching the app today but nothing is shown for these newer features. Really would like to try them out!

I have a ‘21 RSQ8 and I am not seeing this listed either in the MyAudi app.

21' RS6 Avant here and latest myaudi app. No new features showed up. This myaudi app is simply useless. The only function is to lock/unlock the car. I don't understand the need for geofence/speed alert. Really hoped this app could come with more useful functions.

The app for our x5 is hands down more useful. It’s sad this is audis best attempt.

Updated the app and same. No new tech available and no mention of it. The app really is only useful for unlocking and locking the car. Even the mileage tracker is a joke. With my ZL1 and the Chevy app, you can track everywhere the car goes which is quite handy to know they’re not out joyriding the car when it’s in for service.

For the geofence and speed alert, they are very useful if you have teenage kids...and no I never let them drive it. I have left it in the garage and while my wife and I were away and I set the geofence as small as possible. You can't even make it out of the drive without an alert going off. As for speed, I set a speed alert on my old RS5 when I dropped it off for ceramic coating. It went off a few times when they were bringing it back to the dealer.

As a whole, the app isn't that great. Volvo OnCall for my old '15 V60R I had was better and the Fordpass app for my '21 F150 is leaps and bounds better.

Same. Since I updated the app other day its been flaky. I cant connect to the marketplace often. Today getting server response errors in the app for mileage tracker and a message about car now magically not being linked to audi connect infotainment services. Everything seems to be working though. I don't use the mileage tracker. All features in car seem to be working so . Outside of lock/unlock and vehicle status, the app does nothing to make me wanna use it and the entire Audi Connect ecosystem is a pita to setup and use.

Agree. Tried to send a destination to the car several times this morning and it never arrived. Much faster to enter it directly in the car.

geofence for if you park the car and don't remember where it is, and were not connected to an app that tracks the car. Or, valet parking it

Speed alert - if you let someone borrow the car.

Admittedly, I don't use the app for my car often ('19 S4), as it's hardly driven (once this year, to get it inspected). It spends most of it's time tucked away. I've used the former function with some frequency in the past, and it's worked well. No need for the latter, as no one drives it

Was just about to start a new thread and saw this pop back up. I bought my car (2019 A6) used a few weeks ago and did not get a key id tag which I believe is needed to set up the myaudi app. Dealer wants $80 for it, was trying to decide if it was worth it. Looking here, sounds like lock/unlock is about all it actually does. Not sure what car status items you can view (locked, anything else?), so without having any connect subscription, is there anything else I am missing (since the other items mentioned by the others don't actually work?) Also, will the car unlock work if I am in a garage when Sat radio does not? Locating the car in a big parking garage might be helpful for old forgetful people as well if that is reliable (I know my memory isn't!).

    Regards,
    Bob

Lock/unlock should work so long as there is a cell signal.

I heard the same story in 2019 when i first got mine and I could not log in. Eventually it worked, but the app is limited in what you can do, at least you can check if it is open and how much fuel but that is it (they took away the exact oil level to just a word indicator, so even that was a step backwards, and moved the lock/unlock off the main screen)

The outstanding issues with the app were resolved weeks ago. Assuming your dealer registered correctly to begin with, a simple reset of the MMI, followed by logging in, should work for the vast majority of people. If it does not, a backup remedy exists that your dealer can enact. Details of this were emailed to all dealers.

    myAudi app

Apparently my dealership/salesman had no idea. They even had issue registering key user to the vehicle at the beginning.

Does anyone have instructions on resetting MMI and the backup steps if that doesn’t work?

I dunno app still seems messed up to me. Im not factory resetting anything though. Car has no issues and app still does what I use it for but invalid server response errors abound, cant access my subscription details nor connect to marketplace and cant delete geo alerts from before 10/21. Hard resets should be a last resort troubleshooting step not part of the normal process.

For reference there are many features in the app

My app for 2019 A6 allows me to do the following without any subscriptions

    a. locate the vehicle after parked (not while driving or ignition on) - click on map icon on bottom of main screen
    b. Stolen car locator - click on functions to get there
    b. see range on fuel in miles - main screen
    c. % of fuel left - main screen, left box (can swipe right)
    d. If oil level is ok or not (doesn't show level like early on versions, just ok or not)
    f. Doors/windows/sunroof open/ lights off / hood and tailgate/trunk status - main screen right box, swipe left on fuel level box to get to "vehicle notifications" on the outline image screen, click on the menu bars in upper right to see list of each
    g. lock/unlock car - click on functions to get there
    h. faults: including low tire pressure warning, child lock failure, tail light failure, which I have seen pop up, not sure what other faults it will report - main screen, "warnings and information"
    i. open recalls, and some open service campaigns that Audi considered critical - main screen, not there until it pops up in new box under the "warnings and information" box
    j. Mileage of car - home screen
    k. list of all options in car, and features - main screen, scroll down to "equipment and tech data" box
    l. when service is due - main screen, scroll down to service topics and tap on box
    m. owners manual - main screen, scroll down to service topics and tap on box, a pain as you need your VIN
    n. if you tap on the photo of your car, it shows the stock image of your car in your options in landscape view, inside and out and can save images.

Other items, but less reliable (able to schedule service, marketplace, etc)

It is not always easy to find all this, but they are in the app, so I tried to provide hints above how to get there.

How did you guys even get the MMI to login to your MyAudi account?

I followed all of the various threads on the MMI login failure topic, even created a new MyAudi account and registered/validated a new key user. Can lock/unlock the car and see the status update, but cannot for the life of me get a successful login using MyAudi account when I click "Add User" via the MMI.

Reading through all of the various forums posts through the last few years, seems like it's server related... Pretty frustrating!

EDIT: I'm going to try the MMI reset mentioned by Rmode

I was instructed by AoA to give audi connect a ring.
I called yesterday and waited 30 minutes then the call got dropped. Then I called back and waited nearly hour with no luck..
I am very frustrated at this point. I have no IT background but how can entity this large can’t figure this out already?!

Until we are able to remote start our cars, all this other BS is useless to me. I have been able to remote start my wife's 2015 GMC Acadia but not my $150K Audi. What a joke.

I always thought the lack of remote start had something to do with the the car being manufactured in Europe? BMW/Mercedes, it's the same story! No remote start on my buddies AMG GTS or on my parents X5.

    Google search shows:
Germany keeps tight regulations on vehicles for safety and environmental reasons. For example, it's currently illegal in Germany to start or idle a vehicle with no one in the driver's seat. Thus, no remote starters.

I was finally able to get someone on the phone after another hour long wait..

The representative walked me through a couple things and we’re not able get it to work.

The following are the couple things we tried. She did state that others with the same issue were able to reach resolution by doing the following.
-MMI soft reset holding down the volume button for 8-10 seconds)
    -Removing key user then rejoining

Like I said above, those steps did not fix my problem but I went ahead and listed them just in case you guys want to give it a shot.

Your dealer can open a support ticket for your specific vin. This would then allow the engineers to implement a work around for your particular car so it functions correctly

these can work well, but, you lose a key in the process, or have to buy a third, have it programmed, further adding to cost. For someone getting a 2022, they only come with 1 key in the first place.

The above app and Audi's don't have many duplicate features, so all depends what someone is looking for to begin with.

At the of the day, no one provides anything for free. The companies are for profit afterall.

Whatever they include n the price of the car...you've paid for. Whatever they don't include, you pay for, as an option. None of it, ever, is free.

My ‘19 e63s wagon had remote start through MercedesMe app. Worked great.

However when you unlock the door to open it the remote start would shut off

It wasn't long ago when there were no options for Audis to remote start. Every make and model has it's pluses and minuses.

It is hard to look around though... My Navigator automatically turns on heated seats and steering wheel depending on outside temperature. Hell, they even offer scheduled starts so if you leave for work at predictable times it will have it warm and waiting automatically.

Hmm... I had remote start on my 2021 GLC 63 through the Mercedes app. As others have pointed out, it shuts off when you open the door. The MB app I used on several cars over the past years was far easier to set up and use than with my current 2020 A4 Allroad. I don't expect things to be easier if my A6 Allroad ever gets here.

As a whole, VAG has been notorious for having oil pumps that don’t flow a bunch of oil as idle. Which is why they always recommend doing cold start and drive away gingerly until the car is up to temperature. I always took it as excessive idle on a cold engine was a great way to put excess wear on the engine.

FWIW, when I took delivery of my 2020 A4 Allroad a couple months ago which was a service loaner car, neither I nor the sales person could get anything to work right. He said that Audi Germany did an update to the Ausi US Software not that long ago that impacted U.S. cars. It requires a new software download to the vehicle. Of course they could not do that when I was there picking up the car so after a 120 mile round trip to the dealer they did the software upload and it still did not work. There was a failed hardware component in the MMI that they had to order from Germany. To Audi's credit it can in about a week. This solved some of the problems, but the login/user part is still not working right. The User Interface is terrible.

The point is, I don't know if the sales person was right about the new software that is required to allow you to login. Perhaps yes??? As said, the main problem on my car was the hardware failure in the MMI.

the newest cars do not require you to login separately as the key user. It's all part of setting up the Connect trial now (the system does it for you). I don't know if it's a production date cutoff or not (likely is). But, for any of the cars I delivered in recent months, I have not had to separately set a key user in the car. Once the initial trial was setup, and verified, I could log the client into the car (email and password), and as soon as they logged into the app (same email and password), all the data would push through re: vehicle status, etc.

yes, there have been numerous updates done on the server side in the last 12 months (and I suspect, more will come)

Took delivery on a s6 a couple months ago and it was still requiring to log in after key user setup but haven’t been able to… I would get an error message.
I believe my Audi app works fine ( lock/unlock, oil level, fuel level etc)
Can someone elaborate on what I am missing out on by not being able to login on the MMI..

Nothing of substance. The whole Audi cloud ecosystem is clunky. Sometimes it works fine. Oftentimes it doesn't. Problems persist for an hour or sometimes days/weeks.
