Steering defective recalibrate by Audi only?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Hi please help, today my birthday, I suppose go on my birthday trip, I went to check my tyre pressure before I go. Work shop forgot to take off the jack before let me reverse out the holster. I run over the jack , my steering defective light come on straight away, and I lost all my power steering.

Took it to the shop next door, which they found out I snap the wiring from ECU to steering,so no communication. They fix the wiring, I got some of my steering back, but however I still have the faulty code, I lost my paddle shifters and back up camera plus lights and steering is still extreme heavy.

The work shop told me I need recalibrate property before can be working again, they couldn't do it. Is this an Audi dealership only option because they have special tools and program, or I can try a different work shop. I ring Audi in my city they are book out a month ahead, so mean I will be like this for months.

Please help see if there is any other options.thanks

    Steering Angle Sensor (G85) Calibration
    [Select]
    [16 - Steering Wheel]
Turn steering wheel at least 30 ° left or right and back straight ahead (Tolerance: ±1.5 °).
    [Security Access - 16]
    Enter 40168
    [Do It!]
    [Basic Settings - 04]
    Group 001
    [Go!]
    Activate the Basic Setting.
    [ON/OFF/Next]
After a successful basic setting, field 3 should say "OK".
    [Done, Go Back]
    [Meas. Blocks - 08]
Group 033 Field 3 (Steering Angle Sensor -G85-)
    Specification: 0.0 °
    Tolerance (when straight): ±1.5 °
    [Done, Go Back]

After the Steering Angle Sensor (G85) Calibration is completed, the 44-Steering Assist (J500) module may have DTC C10AC - Steering End Stops Not Learned stored. The steering limit end stops need to be adapted as follows:

Start the engine and turn the steering to full right lock and hold it for 5 to 10 seconds. The vehicle should produce an audible beep
Turn the steering to the complete left lock and the same audible beep should sound.
Straighten the wheels and wait 5 to 10 seconds while observing the steering and traction control warnings. They should extinguish although it is advised to scan the vehicle again for DTCs prior to the test drive.

    Special Notes
To confirm the status of the G85 calibration see MVB group 032.
If the basic setting group results in an error message verify the live G85 reading is ±1.5 °. Readings such as 359° would indicate the slip ring is mechanically out one full turn.
The slip ring is the 16-Steering Wheel Electronics module. If the vehicle deployed Airbag(s) and the slip ring was replaced make sure the module is long coded using VCDS.

Try this, turn the wheel to the right full lock and hold to you hear a beep then turn it the other way full lock until you hear a second beep and that might do the trick. I had this light come on after doing a alignment and I did this procedure and it worked, the warning lights went away and got my power steering back. This might get rid of the steering wheel light.

Seems odd to need a jack in order to check tire pressure. What am I missing?

You need to find better repair shops. You keep going to horse shit places who end up screwing you over. Pretty sure you would have been lots of money ahead by now if you would have dealt with an Audi dealer rather than the dipshits you keep going to.
