hey guys how much have you spent between tuning and piping for DPF CAT deletes?

Whos the go to any others besides rawtek darkside and buzken? Is this something a local shop can fab up or are the flanges a problem to match

Hardware from Darkside cost me $360 shipped from the UK (included the gaskets, etc). The tuning was $898 from Malone for Stage 2 and deletes, and another $50 from my shop to do it (already a Malone rep).

A custom delete would probably more based on the bends, flanges, and bungs to weld. A competent shop would certainly be able to do this, and any other exhaust pieces you'd like.

I cannot say there are other "go to" deletes other than the ones mentioned. I like the Darkside, as it felt really good in the hand (very well made; welds were impeccable, high quality 316 stainless).

Good catch. That was 360 pounds sterling. $464 USD shipped at the time.

Have been recommended to gut the DPF as another alternative. Shop mentioned they open up the DPF and remove the insides and weld it up again, bit more stealth. Might be another option?

Thats def another option but with the cost of the dpf i think its best to keep it if you ever need to go back to stock

Ya for sure. Unless you are chasing big power and the DPF still works, just keep it. I'll be getting my tune next month and was advised exactly that. I don't intend on swapping turbos or anything in the future (maybe an intercooler?) so won't really need it.

    Cheers

see I want the sounds (and the power bump) from DPF delete. Going from a 2008 TT 3.2...to a 2010 S5 V8 w straight pipe...to a straight piped 2013 S4...I'd like to have something that sounds good and turns heads

Can't really say there is a sound from the DPF delete... at least nothing like changing the rest of the exhaust.

Buzken parts aren't always too cheap. But I'm willing to buy this as my DPF gets dirty. I need this gasket. I often drive downhill, straining the engine. And I sometimes have to tow trailers on the farm. Of course, I regularly clean the particulate filter. Once I forgot about it, and the car stalled. I called the DPF cleaning professionals from https://www.30minutedpfclean.com/pro...ning-services/. They cleaned the filter in 30-40 minutes. And I drove on. They came straight to my farm, so everything was fine. But it wouldn't be much fun if the engine stopped working somewhere in the forest belt or field.
