With the addition of Audi's hands on detection (HoD) touch sensitive steering wheels for the driver's assistance programs this has made it hard for Q7, SQ7 post-facelift and Q8, SQ8, RSQ8 owners to fit flat-bottom steering wheels in cars that did not have them from the factory. Unfortunately the flat-bottom steering wheels offered specifically for these models do not have the touch sensitive ability, but there is a solution...

The RS flat-bottom steering wheels with the touch sensitive abilities from the C8 models can be prepared to fit the Q7, SQ7 post-facelift and Q8, SQ8, RSQ8 models that require this to function properly. The RSQ8 model can utilize the RS Mode controls and the other models can opt to have the standard controls fitted to retain the "*" button.

These steering wheel packages are useful for Q7, SQ7 post-facelift and Q8, SQ8, RSQ8 owners who have round, heated steering wheels with trapezoidal airbags which have the Hands on Detection touch sensitive system. Pricing is for a complete package with steering wheel and airbag.

Fitment:

• Plug and play for all models
• All models REQUIRE an airbag which is included in the pricing
• The airbag included can be standard plastic or leather trimmed as shown
• Only the RSQ8 model will be able to use the RS Mode button
• Standard controls with the "*" button are an additional cost
• RS, S or Badgeless trims are available for all packages
• All flat-bottom steering wheels are identical in size and shape, variations are based on material only
• Heating function is still retained using the MMI activation

Delivery:
Note that these steering wheels are still listed as special order but can arrive as quickly as 1-2 weeks. Steering wheels that require the controls and/or badging to be changed must first ship to the US for preparation which does elongate delivery time, but in general can be as quick as 3-4 week total delivery time.

These packages are not for adding a heated wheel to a car that does not have one. These wheel packages are to have the hands on demand touch sensitive system in the wheel which most of these cars are coming with from the factory. The issue is that the standard flat-bottom wheels for these models do not have that touch sensitive ability so they cannot be fit.

These packages solve that problem since these RS wheels have the touch sensitive system and heating built in.

Yes, but there is an unfortunate thing Audi has done. The black trim on the trunk is available on it's own, but the black trims on the taillights have been superseded to only coming fitted to complete taillights.

This of course can get expensive quickly since the taillights are not the cheapest items on these cars anymore.
