Are there any long-term RS6 owners left on here? How many miles and what has your experience been like as far as turbo lifespan and other expensive repairs? Thanks.

I dont know how many are on this board. I have heard of quite a few guys with well over 100k on their RS6. Regular maintenance is key to any cars long life, but even more so with the RS6.

Mine has 60k trouble free miles. Check out rs6.com, that's where most long timers lurk.

Hopefully having mine running on Sunday, fingers crossed! It's been off the road since a year ago in May due to a blown turbo seal that was leaking oil. That said, it probably blew because I did a tune and run it hard. Time out was also compounded by me deciding mid way through the rebuild that I'd go 6 speed conversion...waited 4 months just for the trans to come in.

Mine has 105k, owned for about 4 years now...can't wait to drive it again because it's such a rush! I've taken people for rides, and a few just couldn't stop laughing, and one just about sh*t himself and demanded that I let him out...didn't even get into 3rd gear!

Cost of ownership is high due to expensive parts and very few people left that can work on them....I do all of my own wrenching and have thousands into it just in parts alone. Again, not planning on getting rid of it anytime soon though! Just remember, it was almost a $100k car back in 2003, so imagine that the cost of ownership is like having a $200k plus car now...

As Kraut said, check out RS6.com....I go by Muggy there, you can follow my rebuild there.

Another great site is in Europe on the forum.rs246.com lots of info over there with active users...

Thanks man! Not an owner yet (still a dreamer lol) because I haven’t decided whether to abandon my b6 built 2.7t swap and get an rs6 or carry on (losing interest)..

I guess it depends on how deep you are with your b6 and what you are willing to give up if you part out or sell...that said, you won't be done with wrenching with any 15+ year old Audi...

Yesterday's progress...not to a startup test yet, but at least back home...

Nice - you’re did the manual swap.

Would you know what parts would transfer over from a B6 S4 with 2.7t to RS6? K24 Turbos? SRM intercoolers?

Yeah, looking forward to rowing the gears! Pretty much nothing motor wise will swap, but you could transfer over the 01E (if you have one) and related swap parts on the trans.

I am on RS6.com as well, been following your progress and great work, you are braver then i am!

Oasis, as everyone mentioned here, great cars, rare and amazing honestly. I have wanted one since 2003 and finally bought mine 5 years ago, with 74.000 and i have 109,000 currently. It is not my daily but i do drive it. Regular maintenance is key for all cars, but especially for the RS6. I have done lots of routine maintenance on mine, plus bigger ones and it adds up quick. Also, as a reminder, the parts are getting harder and harder to find, as some are getting discontinued since the cars are almost 20 years old. I have been buying extra parts and storing them for what can or will come with those cars. Just something to keep in mind.

I am not trying to convince you not buy one but all those advises from everyone here are pretty spot on. In fact, i would advise you to get one, there are not many of them but they have such a great following, and these cars are the main reason for that. Now considered old engineering, they are still an amazing machine and surprises most to this day. Good luck!

My first RS6 was totaled by my son with 120K miles on it, daily driver, and the engine was pristine and ended up in an S6 Avant conversion. I picked up a well cared for second one with 110K miles on it, that had Level 10 transmission. With added power, that was a weak spot in the stock cars. At 133k miles in late 2017 I had the engine overhauled by 034 Motorsports, along with their ECU and TCU tune. Not my daily driver but now up to 146K miles and running very strong. Turbos are fine. As other have said, these require care and if you are not going to do it yourself, it is not cheap. The engine is packed into front and almost any work requires at least pulling the front end if not the entire engine. My daily driver is a 2016 S6 with DS1 tune, a wonderful car, but I still get a kick surprising other drivers with the RS6. Also many long time owners on RS6.com for more information. I'm papadoc there as well. Sadly I see more cars with a lot of miles go for parts now, and I doubt there are that many left on the road.
2016 S6, Sepang Blue, Black Optics, Sport package and driver's assistance. 034 Motorsport turbo heat exchanger. DS1 stage 3 ECU tune, SRM TCU tune. 034 Motorsport Resonator Delete. 4.0+ turbo upgrade with oil screen and PCV replacement.
Second 2003 RS6, black on black, 034 ECU/TCU tune, Koni shocks, Level 10 transmission. First RS6 = engine/transmission donor to Stephen's Avant project.
2014 Cayenne diesel to round out the garage

I was down in California for vacation in July and had my RS6 tuned at 034 Motorsports as well, definitely wakes up the car!
