RS7 Trim Color

I bought a used 2017 RS7 Performance a few weeks ago. The previous owner had made a few appearance mods that I'm working to undo. Notably the front rings were Nardo Grey, the rear rings were painted black (with some paint chipping), and the RS7 badges are both black with some chipping.

I got the original window sticker and the car didn't have any indication of black-out packages, so I swapped the rings with silver, and I have silver badges on order. My question is about the various exterior trim bits on the car. The trim around the front grill, as well as the trim around the windows, is all black. Without any "black package", would these have originally been silver?

I've been googling pictures and see a mix of RS7s with silver and with black trim. But when I look at new RS6s, they all seem to have silver trim unless one gets the black optic package. Is it possible that the RS7 Performance always had black trim while the RS7 non-Performance was silver?

Minor detail, I know, but I'm trying to get this beast back to what it might have been from the showroom.

IIRC, the RS7 Performance came with black optics. From the looks of your grille, it's black optics.

There are OEM black rings and black badges available from Audi parts retailers.

<edit: The performance gets you carbon mirrors, carbon diffuser, front spoiler, gloss black grille, and window trim. There is no Black optics package on the RS7 performance>

If you have carbon optic. They will be black out trims and grille. Front rings rear rings and rear badges could be silver or black.

I've been looking at pictures of RS7s over the last 15 minutes trying to find the correlation between trim color and car... Here's my current conclusion (for MY2017):

RS7 base is silver trim and silver rings/badges.

RS7 Performance in the US is black trim and silver rings/badges.

RS7 Performance in Europe is silver trim and silver rings/badges.


Obviously the Carbon Optic package changes the ring/badge color.

Carbon optic package does not change the ring color at least for certain in 2016. Carbon optics in the US got you carbon front and rear diffusers, gloss black mirrors, black window trim and chrome rings.
