Audi RS6 Virtual Cockpit and MMI Displays Died

I've had a number of issues with the MMI displays blacking out on start-up. Cannot view the center and lower displays. Usually they reset and a functional after the car is off for 20 minutes or so. A hard reset does not work. This is very irritating when you don't have the luxury of time for the MMI to work again. Today the virtual cockpit display blacked out with only a red ! symbol visible. The other MMI displays are working. This problem has not corrected itself all day. It's visible when entering the car, but blacks out on start. Thankfully I have a HUD so I can monitor speed and My Audi tells me my fuel level. Anyone else have this problem or have a solution?

Have you tried toggling the virtual cockpit display from the top MMI LCD? Might coax it back to life?

Had this happen once and was told just to hold down the volume knob for about 15/20 seconds which resets it and did work for me

Just happened to me last week. THere is an update available for the MMI if you havent had it yet - but if you want to fix it before taking it to the dealership, hold down the volume knob down for 10+ seconds until it reboots

I would take it to the dealership and they will scan your vehicle for issues. This will probably be logged somewhere as a computer fault or another and then they can work on fixing it. I'm always amazed at how much the car logs everything. It's great for problems like this.

So I took it to the dealer and they indicated the unit was faulty. Have a wait four days for a replacement. Bummer.

Bummer indeed. 4 days is a minor miracle though with the chip shortage. Silver linings...

Same problem. Center panels beeped and went completely out this week. Tried everything to reset. It's getting picked up Monday. The car is really undrivable at this point.......cannot adjust HVAC, no radio, phone, music, nav, cameras etc. This is my 5th Audi RS and the only one that has had endless issues. Seriously considering dumping and going Plaid.
