A6 3.0t exhaust

I have a 2012 A6 3.0t and am looking to make it a little louder, please drop links!
i’m going to try to do this myself but but want to do a lot of cutting, so direct fit with clamps is best, thanks

You can get a x pipe which is clamp on, I forget from which vendor (I think ECS). It is about 300 bucks. Very easy to install and clamps right in. I bought mine off eBay for $200. Thing is, it sounds like shit....

I talked to a guy that had a muffler delete on a 2017 A6 sounded bad ass nice deep rumble and pitch. I will be getting it done in the near future. Also if you go on youtube you can hear the sounds also.

It's a challenge to both make this motor/exhaust sound good AND not induce a ton of drone in the process.

Consider AWE cat-back exhaust. I think it sounds just a little better than a fart can on an import tuner, but many seem to like it.

I went with a muffler delete. I think it sounds great but there is a lot of drone.

my buddy's 2013 s8 we did a rear muffler delete and added the smallest resonators we could find and it sounded really good. i am in same boat i would like bit more sound BUT don't want drone and all the negatives that come along with changing exhaust on this car.

change the rear mufflers to RS7, had it on mine sounded amazing,

i’ve seen the ecs x-pipe and i like the way it sounds, and i don’t mind some drone, I think this is what i’m leaning towards

i’d love to have that system, unfortunately it cost 1/6 of what I paid for the car lol. I went with the ECS X pipe, hoping the drone is bearable. Doesn’t even ship until October 7th, which sucks but it’ll be worth it in the end!

Swapped for read mufflers S4 and sound good with deep bass

It isn't the drone, it is the rasp.

all of these exhausts are a waste of money you pay 2,220.25 and gains are Max power gains of 12 hp and 11 ft-lbs of torque at the crank you get way more power by just going stage 2 207 mm or dual pulley. But hey to each its own.

What do you mean they are all the same? I have an AWE Touring with the matching AWE Resonated Downpipes (which tones it down slightly) and there is no rasp and most people say no drone. I hear a slight drone only in the 2K rpm range under load but it doesn't bother me now that i've gotten used to it. It's been developed specifically for our cars and I don't think it's the same at all to the other exhausts you mention. The exhaust on the 3.0T is VERY prone to drone when you chop it up or use an inferior brand. I tried various modifications to the stock before finally giving up and getting the AWE.

Im putting my stock exhaust back on this weekend. I went with the Top Speed Pro 1 catback and was ok for the money (999.99) shipped. Fitment was pretty bad in the rear valance.... Sounded ok until I got about 100 miles clocked. Then the drone came, and got worse and worse and at about 200 miles these are coming off ASAP and I dont drive the car but on the weekends etc. Drone is so bad I have to wear earbuds to block it and it vibrates anything in my center cupholder. This is on a 2016 facelift A7 btw..... Dont waste your money. Trust me!

I'll continue enjoying my factory exhaust. It's very quiet, yes; but it also has zero drone or rasp. :)

Yup very loud, and i cannot lie the car is much faster and a lot more responsive, but that drone at 2,000 RPM is driving me nuts!!!

Agreed.... I mean it would break the tires using launch control.... But it wasn't worth it... My drone came in between 1800-2000rpm and it was unbearable.... My stock exhaust is back on and God it's a pleasure to drive again....

I am thinking of adding some RS6 or RS7 REAR Mufflers to see if that would work since my old exhaust went to the scrap metal yard already!
