    Unitronic catted downpipe vs catless

Hey all, I tried searching and doing research on this subject but I can't seem to find any good information.

I just ordered a Unitronic catted downpipe (probably one of the most expensive downpipes on the market for this car) to go Stage 2 but looking back with previous posts it seems like non-catted downpipes like the IROZ unit are the ones posting strong gains. I'm assuming the catted Unitronic unit will not perform nearly as well as a catless downpipe right?

I guess I'm having a bit of buyer's remorse since I really can't find anybody running really quick times using a catted downpipe, everyone is catless. Not sure if paying double the price is worth it now, I know this downpipe is suppose to pass smog, does that mean it's nearly restrictive as the stock one? I know it has a 400cpi cat which seems awfully high when other catted ones are around 200cpi, but I'm no expert on high flow cats...

Any examples of fast RS3/TTRS's running Unitronic catted downpipes?

The Unitronic catted DP is rated to make 1000HP so performance wise it shouldn't be a problem.

The advantage I like of the Uni downpipe is it actually helps muffle that wastegate rattle. It will also pass smog tests and at the same time deliver the performance you need. I just can't seem to come to terms with that price yet. I will possibly go catless like everyone else for this reason and try to live with wastegate rattle.

    I have a Uni DP
Wastegate still rattles on catted DP and louder than stock.... it's all in the tune

I got the Uni Downpipe. It’s definitely worth the money. Great power gains, good sound, very minimum wastegate rattle, and is supposed to pass emissions in most places. Worth the price IMO.
