Power Steering Leak - Tech Question (O-Ring)

Hi, I'm hoping to get your opinions.

I recently brought my car into a local VW/Audi shop to have my suspension changed. Last time I was under the car I saw that there looks to be a leak where the power steering line connects to the rack. I explained to the shop that I wanted to have the o-ring replaced. The shop responded this afternoon mentioning that there is no listed power steering hose o-ring and that the likely fix would require a new power steering rack..

Can anyone confirm that what I'm looking at is in fact the o-ring needed? I took a picture of where its leaking with an inspection camera by the driver's side subframe looking towards the nose of the car. (Hope this makes sense) I see online that there looks to be a diagram and part number on multiple sides. Am I not looking at the right thing? or is the shop wrong on this one and I should just order an o-ring to start. I found references to an o-ring online. Haven't had a chance to get under there yet but is there something I'm missing? I'm assuming it would be an easy thing to replace. Looks a bit rusty. Hope it comes off easy.

    Pics attached.

The diagrams on parts.audiusa.com are generally crap, but they are sufficient at least in your particular case.

What you see is the supply line (8) to the rack with o-ring (21) and two bolts (18). The bracket has a notch that holds the return line (7) with o-ring (23) in place. So to detach supply line 8 does not require detaching return line 7. But since you can't be sure which o-ring, if either, is busted, you should expect to detach both lines and replace both o-rings. So you'll want a WHT 002 665 and a WHT 002 666 and two N10 644 901. Torque spec for the bolts is 20 Nm. The o-rings should be lightly coated with power steering fluid before installing.

It does not appear you should need to bleed the power steering system after such an operation. You'll want to try and plug/cap/seal the openings to prevent as much fluid loss as possible.
