The car is back in our good customers hands. Exhaust during normal driving is the same. But when you get on it, the system is working harder, moving more air, so the tone may increase. It's not going to be the same as doing a new exhaust though, but better than stock in my opinion.

Probably not. The latest batch of ECUs, typically with a build date after mid 2021 on the ECU, are coming in locked with a new security protocol we need to work around. This applies to most all platforms with a VAG Bosch MG1 ECU. One we get past that we'll make an announcement.

I just installed the tune yesterday. Amazing gains but won’t rev past 4K in Park/Neutral etc…

Any plans to update map switching on the fly? Tough to go from 104 octane back to pump gas or vice versa while needing to stop at the dealer/shop to flash.

The application guide on our website will always lag what's available, but in this case, we don't have a solution (most likely). Most of the late 2021 ECUs were locked, so I'd expect the same on new models. We need to figure that out before we can offer software.

My 2021 is doing same thing after APR tune. Hits soft limiter and thats it. Tune is very impressive when driving. Highly recommend to anyone on the fence.

Nope....exactly the same motor.

It's amazing how capable this engine is with just a tune.
Must have a little bigger turbo because of the hybrid system reducing lag.

We've always had the ability to flash the new ECUs but getting the factory code off the ECU, which is necessary for tuning, has been a challenge. Sometimes we're able to get the file without needing the ECU in our hands. In those cases, like if there was a factory update, we're able to easily write software and flash the ECU.

About to pull the trigger on a 21 sq8...love most all comments except for the last one about turbo failure. Has anyone had a problem other then this person, because I'm super tempted right now and just want to make sure. Also does Apr have a tune for lowering the car, through air ride? Thanks in advance

On the last generation 4.0T, turbo failure was common on higher mileage cars due to an oil issue, but nothing like that on this platform that I've seen. On our end, we take great care in our calibration to ensure we don't overspin the turbos.

As for lowering, we're working on a product, but it's not ready yet. It's not something controlled by the ECU.

Sure. Got an check engine light error that car wasn’t making correct boost. My car was flashed back to “stock” about 5 months ago as I was preparing for a factory recall on the mmi software.

After the repair it was kept stock and then the check engine light came on. I checked the code and it was 34203 Boost pressure regulation P02999.

Audi said they detected the tune and TD1 the vehicle. It will cost about $1900 to check a hose malfunction, another $1900 to recalibrate the front sensors when they put the front grill back on and if that doesn’t work, another 10k plus to replace the turbos.
