    A5 steering wheel

My B8 is showing some age in the interior department and to top it off my interior is Gray. I was wondering for the gurus if they knew if this wheel would fit. Or is there a certain era that mounts without issue?

Is it basically the airbag connection that I have to watch for?

That's a B8.5 wheel. It uses a round airbag rather than the trapezoidal airbag of the B8.5. So you're needing a new airbag for the new wheel. The airbag harness should be the same green tab plug on the coil spring side, the airbag harness will be specific to the airbag on the airbag side. For that wheel, the airbag would be 8K0 880 201 AE AZ3, replaced by 8K0 880 201 AR AZ3 (the AZ3 is the steel grey color code for the airbag cover). The airbag harness to use with that airbag in this application would be 8U0 971 589 J, if the airbag doesn't have it with it (new airbags include the harness).

Replacing the wheel introduces numerous decisions that must be made to conclude a specific part number to look for:
    round vs trapezoid airbag
    3-spoke vs 4-spoke
round vs flat bottom, if 3-spoke wheel and round airbag
with vs without paddles, if automatic trans
    wheel leather color
    B8.0 vs B8.5 button style
bottom spoke style and badging, if 3-spoke

On that color item, note that B8.0 grey is agate grey and B8.5 grey is steel grey. Doubt it'd be an issue, but I point it out.

BTW, the A4 and the A5 coupe shared wheels, that wheel is the same one that would have been used on an equally configured B8.5 A4.

Yeah I was aware of the round airbag that was what I was wanting to have. I have been looking for a matching airbag but Gray is not a common colour for parts.
