    help needed with rns-d install

2000 s4 sedan with Bose stereo US spec. I don't have any wiring diagrams for an s4 specifically.

I picked up an rns-d and wanted it to replace my Bose unit. I get a warning for the SAFE wire being disconnected and see that I need to put +5v to the pin5 on the 8pin black connector.

Currently there is a grey/blue wire there, looks like it has something to do with the antenna. The diagram on the rns-d shows the same antenna symbol on pin14 for a connector my s4 does not have but looks like the type of plug the instrument cluster uses(can high and low also look like they need to be relocated to this connector as well).

Is this wire to turn on the antenna amp that's in the roof? Do I need to find the missing plug for the rns-d to get this to work or can I live without it?

Does anyone have any conversion instructions for rns-d I can reference?

Everything I find seems to be for swapping to the later rns-e variant but I would rather have all the best-of stuff offered for the b5 era.

    Thanks

This has to do with keeping power to the SAFE signal which holds the pin. I did that install last year, once you do the wire fix it will work.

You will be limited with the RNS-D unless you have a disc which seem hard to come by. I used it with an ipod adapter to listen to music and eventually went the RNS-E route.

Block A, multiple plug III 8-pin black:

    1 - Gala (speed signal )
    2 - Telephone - Mute
    3 - K - Line (self-diagnosis)
4 - S - Contact connection for ignition key-controlled switching on and off
    5 - SAFE +12 volts
    6 - Dimmer lighting (Kl.58b)
    7 - Supply voltage, permanent positive ( Kl. 30)
    8 - ground (Kl. 31)

Bridge pin 7 to pin 5, the safety pin SAFE needs a permanent plus in order to save the safety code even when the ignition is switched off.

What do I do about the antenna wire?

Does anyone have the part number of the plug for CANBUS and the antenna wire? Its similar to the plug on an instrument cluster but shorter

I installed it a few years ago but getting the TMC error code twice on the navigation. I think that's the reason why I can't see radio info on DIS. If anyone has some info about what wiring should be done, pls let me know. My car had DIS navigation, maybe this is info.

I don't think the B5 here in the states had a TMC module.
