Looks like ECS does not have the factory version right now but they are available.

Edit: I apologize, did not realize that you were asking if there was one from the factory. The 3.0T did not come with a dipstick when new but has a plug in the tube where the dipstick would go. I believe the poster below linked a video of where the tube is located. It's located on the right front side of the motor.

What’s stupid is that our motors have a slot for the dipstick to begin with (3.0T). Def needed to buy and have as you can’t rely on the mmi for accuracy.

Correct. Order the one with the H at the end. That's the correct one for the 3.0T.

Just a heads up there have been a few reports of the little plastic endpiece breaking off on the aftermarket versions of the dipstick, although the OEM ones are apparently fine. I bought an OEM one and just keep it in the storage tray next to my spare tire out of paranoia.

Incidentally I have no idea why the engineers at Audi designed a dipstick with a piece that can break off instead of just going with a regular metal stick.

Because Audi considers it a tool, not meant for permanent install. Most of the Audi ones don't break anyway, its usually the aftermarket brands that do and the Audi ones are fine.

Or just buy an all metal one. Burns your hand, but it won't break lol.

Because sometimes it's easier to read the oil level on a plastic tip than a metal one. That's my guess. And it fits with my experience of German engineering ... solve one problem, create two more.

Unlink my BMW, at least my SQ5 has provisions for a dipstick ... in the BMW the service manual for measuring oil not using the oil level sensor is to drain the oil and measure how much came out. If between oil changes pour it back in...

On my first Audi (1998 A4 1.8T) I went to check my oil, pulled up the dipstick, and the tube broke off the engine. That was just one of many failures on that car.

I was about to order a genuine Audi one from ECS but damn, $18 shipping on a lightweight $30 product.

Edit: Wound up ordering it from audi.OEMpartsonline.com, $38.18 after shipping.

Too funny, had to share this response I got from Audi.oempartsonline.com after ordering dipstick part #06E-115-611-H.

Subject: CAR DOESN'T HAVE A DIPSTICK

Your vehicle doesn't have a dipstick, only a plug that looks like one.

The part number for that one is 06e115418. I will cancel this order. Please reorder under this part number if you still want the part.

Crazy. So, what name do those Bozos give to part #06E-115-611-H? Maybe "oil extraction tube insert device" or something else stupid like that?

    Audi calls it a dipstick:

Lol, maybe it all worked out OK then. And yeah I checked twice as well because I figured for sure that wasn't the Audi brand price.

I ordered the OEM one from Europaparts, they said the dipstick is not meant to stay in the engine. Is everyone just using when checking oil or leaving it in?

I didn’t know if that can stay so I use it and put it next to the spare wheel after that

Ordered the OEM T40178 Oil Dipstick for my 3.0 TDI. Called the Dealership and they said that they could calibrate it, no problem. Said that they have done a few for customers.

Good to know, I'll have my dipstick before my next scheduled service in October.

Got this one on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07R7QY3ZH...roduct_details

Went to the dealer and had it calibrated for my 3.0 TDI. Top adjuster ring was set at 93. Oil measurement should be between 12-14 on the oil level display. Looks just like the one that the dealer uses.
