    Move From 2018 RS3 to 2022 TTRS

I was thinking about moving into a RS5, I just couldn't get past the size and the difference and the engine sound and driving sportiness. Onto a possible new build TTRS.

I have been in contact with my Dealer Contact and he thinks he can get me something but it will be 6-8 months+ obviously. I already have a deposit on a new 2022 RS3 with them. The 2022 build starts in Q4 for the TTRS and he showed me an Audi document with that on it.

I know quite a few of you have done this and was wondering if you are happy with the move, my kids are in college and high school and I no longer need a four-door. I also was looking at a Cayman GTS 4.0 but that will take 1.5-2 years for delivery and will be around $115K CAD optioned out the way I would want it. I will retire with one eventually - that or a 911CS.

Until then I think I'll be happy with a TTRS, lower, more sporty than the RS3 but then again it's basically a 2 door coupe RS3. Or do I bite the bullet and order the Cayman and wait two years and enjoy driving the RS3 which I'll likely sell to my college kid who loves the car and wants to buy it? Or just go ahead and order a new 2022 RS3. I know 1st world problems.

    What would you do?

IMHO yes the TTRS is different put is it that different?! The GTS 4.0 is at a whole nother level and is definitely an upgrade.

I would keep the RS3 until the Porsche arrives.

I agree, order the cayman while you can get a N/A fun sports car customized how you want and keep it forever. Keep the RS3 until then. Then sell it to your kid because you will probably still be able to enjoy it occasionally.

There is quite a difference between the 2018 RS 3 and the 2019 RS 3 which I discovered when I test drove them and bought the 2019 RS 3. You might want to test drive a 2019 or wait for a 2022 RS 3. I do a lot of fast country back road runs (over 17k miles thus far) as a longtime road runner (63 years) and have found that the 2019 RS 3 is the better performer performing on such roads. The only change I made was to install 245/40/18 tires on 18x8.5 RSe10 Neuspeed wheels, which significantly improved our 2019 RS 3's performance... over the factory 235/35/19 tire/wheel configuration.

The tire/wheel configuration is shown in my PHOTO GALLERY.

I forgot to mention that the stock 235/35/19 Pirelli tires didn't last long! On the third day of our use, one failed due to road pot hole hit! The current Michelin 245/40/18 tires now have 17,535 miles on these same roads as of yesterday, with a total of 24,354 miles since new! Keep this in mind when purchasing very low profile tires.

I think the 718 GT4 is an amazing vehicle but, I ultimately eliminated it from my list of choices. Largely for the same reason that I eliminated the 718 Cayman's in general. Their aftermarket is nearly non-existent. Hell, the aftermarket for these cars is still very much in its infancy, it seems. If they had a better market for power potential, I would be driving a 718 of some sort today.
