Fabric dye to color leather stitching

I saw corvette guys do this. My car came with white stitching but always had the red stitch envy. Has anyone tried? I’m about to try. Wish me luck! Once I start, that’ll be it. No turning back. Haha. I’ll post before and after pics. If you did it or tried it, share some tips with me. Will be using this marker and vinyl/leather cleaner to wipe off any excess.

Someone did this over on Reddit. Went with orange and matched the outside “S” badges. It looked amazing.

I’m gonna test it out on small area first. Thing that worries me the most is bleed out areas not wiping off with the cleaner. But corvette guys seem to have a lot of luck with vinyl/leather cleaner. Anyway, I’ll keep you posted.

PocketCub did this also on a different thread on here. Not sure how to link that thread but here’s where it’s posted.

Little test run. I like it. Tedious as hell though. Lol.

I did this on a previous car (Lexus RC-F). Worked fine and slight mistakes cleaned up easily, if done quickly. Two "issues": 1) it took hours to do all of the stitching; 2) I had to get into some pretty contorted positions to get to all of the stitching. But, the end result was totally worth it.

Yeah, I’m glad mistakes come off rather easy. Thank goodness. Lol. I’m at the point of no return now. 30 minutes to do the steering wheel and door area. I’m really bored I think…

On a similar note, does anyone have any recommendations for the best method to clean the grey stitching? On a steering wheel for example?

Never mind, figured it out, toothbrush and soapy water=like new.
