Audi Exclusive Color Goodwood Green, Thoughts?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I am planning on ordering 2022 Audi RS6 Avant and have been looking at Audi Exclusive PTS (Paint to Sample) of various green shade. I am leaning more towards Goodwood green as it is most closes to British Racing Green. i wanted to get your opinion on if i should go with black optic pkg or without? wheels i am choosing are 2" 5-V-spoke trapezoidal design cast aluminum wheels.

    Thanks,

Audi Exclusive Color Goodwood Green, Thoughts?

Went through this ordering my November 21 build rs6

I’ve done most of my Audi’s with exclusive paint, and wanted to do the green wagon thing on cognac

As much I wanted to do Goodwood, it’s really hit or miss depending on the lighting and angle, and although a pearl it’s a bit flat

There are much nicer greens, such as azores, emerald, avocado, and tropic

My wife has a gomera green my22 s5 sportback and that is an amazing teal green

In the end I went merlin, same colour as my rs3, but I’ll be selling it when my rs6 arrives, and doing a new 8Y rs3 in tropic - very hard not to have properly sorted 5 cylinder noises in ya life

My biggest issue though with my rs6 order has been Audi exclusive upholstery shop being closed - I’ll have to do interior myself locally

What color did you go with on your RS6 order?

Pretty sure there's a guy here with British Racing Green on his RS6. Goodwood would be amazing also!

As far as black vs not - I personally prefer the blacked out look but can't go wrong with either. It's your car - go with your gut.

The carwow guy on YouTube did a Sonoma green/cognac RS6 that I thought looked sharp.

Merlin purple, same as my rs3

I spec’d my rs3 without ever seeing merlin in person, not many people bother with exclusive paint here in Australia as the waiting time is ridiculous

Loved it on first sight and I think will look even better on the wider body rs6

Merlin is a pearl, so changes quite a bit in light

I’ve got plenty of pics I’ve saved along way debating colour

    Goodwood

    Emerald green

Tropic green (also known as Wimbledon green in Porsche) - my favorite Audi colour but I don’t have the balls to do an rs6 in this, I’ll do it on a cheaper smaller rs3

    Azores green

Looks amazing! I need to show my wife and see what she thinks about it. I also have been looking at the Sebring Black Crystal as well. I saw a YouTube video review of the RS6, it looked amazing.

Yeh the first 3 heavily edited pics look great, and what you want goodwood to look like irl

but the last 2 pics is what it really looks like, bit too drab and flat - it is not Audi’s equivalence of JLR’s British racing green

As much as I’m an old school RS fan where wagons and silver alu trim and mirrors were the order of the day, some colours you have to do the black pack and wheels

Thank you for sharing this. I have been considering this color on a 992, but that is likely a few years off. It never occurred to me that I could get it on an RS6. My order is in for Oak Pearl Green, and now I am questioning everything...

Audi exclusive is technically open to any colour, though it’s easier to get colours from within the group approved

It’ll all depend on where you’re at in production schedule, but more so now with all the component delays pushing production back, they are less and less interested in exclusive orders - as I said above, the exclusive upholstery shop is closed til mid 2022

I had my repairer spray out a tropic green panel

It’s definitely out there, and IMO too much colour for something like an rs6

I debated some darker greens for mine but hated HOW dark they became come nighttime.

I didn’t want something too bright like Java Green but it needed to still be green come nighttime.

Decided on Sonoma green over cognac after seeing Matt watsons on car wow. From there it was countless photoshops of BO or aluminum optics.

Loved the traditional RS theme of aluminum but thought the aluminum was best paired with darker colours and vice versa for lighter.

Decided on Sonoma green over cognac with BO and refinished carbon ceramics…and refinished hyper silver wheels.

    Voila!

Picked mine up early this year and love the color! Went with the classic route silver with Ferrari Verde Racing Green UNI but opted for black interior with Audi exclusive airbag cover and lower side front seats.

I use to have a dark green Trans Am. I can tell you to keep it looking good was just as hard as black. If you don't like the maintence of a black car I don't think you'll like it with a dark green one would be my 2 cents. if that's not a big deal for you as others have said you can get the exact exact color you want that's not even on their preapproved list if you're willing to wait.

WOW! That looks amazing. Curios to know is that a Ferrari color code and if so how did Audi approve it as Audi exclusive color?

I have had lots of cars, but never a green one. I have an order (waiting for an allocation) for an A6 Allroad and have been thinking of Goodwood green or Oak Pearl Green. The Oak Pearl has the benefit of likely not showing the dirt so much but in some pictures I have seen on line it seems almost brown which I do not like. It is not likely that I will ever see either in person in my state so I will have to think more, or go with one of the blues.

Go with Oak Green Pearl. I flipped my order to Navarra, and I regret it. The green looks great, and it will be much more unique.

    Some better pics of goodwood

Being a pearl it’s hard to find true pics of the colour but these make it look a lot less drab and way more interesting

You need the cognac interior though, you’d drab it back up with black

I went DEEP into the hole of trying to choose an AE green. Looked at green pics for days. lol. There's a very long thread on another forum that I think I read through in its entirety.

I've decided I'm looking for something a bit more understated, given the nature of the car. I loved my Ara blue on my RS3 - it was a beautiful colour, but I feel like when going with a very bright colour on an audi you loose a bit of audi's ability to appear a sleeper (though I suppose the RS6 is not exactly blending in no matter what colour you choose).

Colour choices are obviously subjective, but my current list of preferences (which seems to vary day to day), FWIW:

    1) Deep green pearl effect - very understated, almost black in many lights. Swatch looked very nice in my dealer showroom, and then basically turned black outside on an overcast day. See this youtube video. Still considering this option if I flip back over to AE for my order (I'm waiting for an allocation). Would get alu optics and black interior. I thought the high contrast of alu optics looks amazing with Sebring black and I think I'd get a similar effect with deep green/alu.

tied for 1): mrhonjo's exact spec. Hadn't seen this anywhere else. Looks amazing. But presumably costs more above deep green, and I assume it also doesn't change colour as much as a pearl effect paint would?

    2) Emerald - Similarly understated, but a bit more green pop. Haven't seen a swatch of this yet. Does this look dated to anyone else? Not sure why, but it somehow reminds me of 2010 or so. Haven't seen a swatch.

tied for 2) Sonoma - very popular, for good reason. Would get Ninja Turtle's exact spec. I think that looks amazing (but personally just tad brighter than I'd prefer, and for some reason I wouldn't want to spec an AE so similar to someone who lives so close to me). Additional view of Sonoma - the host talks about how it changes in light here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2fbu85t8Gug. Swatch showed lots of character in the colour. Audi had it as a special option on the RS5 for a reason - very interesting colour.

    3) Gemora - above pics confirmed it's too bright for what I want, but looks amazing in person on a swatch - so good it was still in the running for a while.

    4) Goodwood green - I like this on other cars - e.g. a 911, but it doesn't grab me on the Rs6. Too flat based on the swatch.

I have a deep green, so going to jump on the opportunity to whore my car out.

I do really love the color, perfectly understated. In direct sun though, its so brilliant.

The pearl gives it a ton of depth in the sun.

I had Sonoma Green with Cognac on order and it was eventually canceled by Audi. I was crushed and ended up with Mythos Black. I so wanted Sonoma Green!!!! It's like I am driving a red headed stepchild.
