I am interested as well in an actual response. I have CarPlay and while it works most of the time, at least once every drive I have to use my phone because something goes wrong or can't be done from the CarPlay screen or it takes 14 clicks to get back to now playing in Spotify. I miss having my phone mounted in a visible, accessible location.

If I had an iPhone 12 I'd definitely get one of these MagSafe mounts. The Spiegels look amazing.

I used this type of solution for about a month. Works well as long as you position out of the screen's travel path, to far-right or far-left, so it won't be knocked off the magnetic holder as the screen closes. I stopped using it in warmer months because it blocked a significant amount of a/c cooling from the vent---the phone turned ice-cold but I couldn't feel much cooling. Then, I found that I really don't have that much use for mounting my phone in the car while driving, so I just leave it in my pocket and life's fine. Call me old school.

Nothing's perfect when it comes to phone mounts, but this type of solution is low-cost, easy to install and uninstall (in seconds) and reasonably effective.

I use this one on my S6, but should be the same dash. It clicks into place and has a decently strong magnet.
