    Stripped threads when installing sway bar/end links

    Alright so I ordered a set of 034 rear sway bars to tighten up my steering a bit since I live in the mountains and the roads are very twisty.

    Here is the biggest issue …. The bolt that attaches the end links to the control arm… well somehow the thread got stripped by either over tightening or by going in angled. I got it nice and snug but I can’t torque it because now it just keeps spinning freely once it gets to the tightest point it can reach. I’ve driven the car the past 2 days like that and it’s giving me anxiety. I’m trying to figure out my options before I attempt to redo everything this weekend. How important is that bolt? Can I just loctite it tight and call it a day? Or does it serve as an actual function and needs to be torqued down correctly? Any tips or tricks on how to remedy this?

    Just get a new bolt, or where it screws into might be screwed up too, and it is twisting because there isn't enough thread in there to grab. If you didn't booger it up too bad, you can just chase the threads with a tap and get a new bolt. If you screwed it up too much (pun intended) and the new bolt won't hold, you need to drill and tap it the next size up and use helicoil to fix it.
