Remove and replace front bumper grille vents/trim

I just ordered replacement carbon fiber front bumper grill vent trim pieces from JC Sportline and am wondering how to remove the old stock pieces. Anyone had experience doing so and if so, would you be willing to share? Thanks!

I think they are stuck atop the OEM bits with double sided tape. I’ve been trying to find a carbon replacement but haven’t had much luck. The picture looks flush and like a replacement however…

Exactly. The image I shared is from an owner who replaced his, thus the question on how to remove the stock pieces.

Guess I'll find if that's the case or if it's an overlay when mine arrive.

Check out this video - it shows the backside. As far as I can tell, these tape or glue onto existing pieces. I don't think removing the factory pieces is necessary but might make installation easier. Sub'd for results.

I received these and they were an overlay. They were nice, fitment was okay but not perfect, so I sent them back and got a refund.

Instead, I went with the dry carbon front trim replacemt from Automotive Passion.

I received these about a week ago and they are stellar.

Will have PPF overlay put on and then have my body shop install them.

I also ordered the JC sportline overlays. They have been held up in customs for weeks. I'm starting to think I'll never get them. Not sure how I'd return them to ali express. I'll be throwing some pics up when I get them.

They didn't match up exactly to 100% cover the factory pieces and I was concerned about the adhesive strips holding up over time.

I know the replacents from Automotive Passion will be a pain to install but they'll also fit perfectly and won't come off.

I received my order from them in less than two weeks.

Well installed my JC sportline covers. (Ali express) Real CF, and like Pzin70 said the fitment isn’t 100%. I had to trim the center piece. Used a sharpie to hide the cut. Not terrible overall. I think I’ll go with the auto passion product eventually

I could of trimmed it better but oh well. It was just too long to fit. I’ll come back with a heat gun and round that edge more when I have some time
