    Atmospheric Diverter Valve Spacer?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Hey there,

    Been a lurker since I've gotten my 2017 A3 :D
Just wondering, I impulse bought an ECS atmospheric diverter valve spacer and have been wondering if it's going to cause me any issues like CEL or have my engine run too rich or something? Is it just not recommended for me to install it on mine?

Sorry if there's a post somewhere but I couldn't find anyone asking this question

    Atmospheric Diverter Valve Spacer?

The EA888 is a speed density engine, so no, an atmospheric BOV/spacer won’t cause any issues, even if they are stupid and even more stupid on an automatic car.

I think so too but my circumstances led me to this car. So no matter how stupid it is, as long as the engine and I are happy it's alright

Ya gotta see if your A3 has a MAF sensor...some do some dont. If it dont...the spacer wont mess anything up.

I actually have a full on BOV on a s3, it's fun, nice sound when you let off the gas, but it's a "been there done that" kind of feeling now. going to ditch it when it's time for a smog check. I was on a quest to get the car to make all the turbo sounds it could, but this turbo is so small, hardly hear any spooling.

Ya need the turbo muffler delete pipe

"The result: noticeably better boost response giving a little more power and throttle reaction, all the while being able to actually hear your turbo working."(https://www.racingline.com/vwr16g7del)

I can hear all my turbo sounds!

I have the APR one, I heard more of the wastegate sound with it but I was hoping to hear the turbo spool.

Exhaust laws are pretty strict in my province here so I rather just do some intake/turbo changes rather than not be street legal and change anything on the exhaust.
Apparently even changing to a catted downpipe is illegal here so, I'll have to see if I wanna risk it in the future.

Nope, no MAF sensor when I changed my OEM intakes to a short ram one... unless there's one near the inlet pipe D:

Curious on the install or kit for the BOV if you have a thread or anything?

uspmotorsports sells the kit, install instructions on their site too.

Took it off, along with a turbo inlet a few months ago actually.
