Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Hoping someone can help...I am looking for a list of all available S and RS Audi vehicles (year 2000+) that offer true manual transmission. unfortunately i think it should be a fairly short list.

i have searched all over the web and this forum first, with no luck. appreciate any help!

All the S4’s and non convertible S5’s and the B7 Rs4’s had a manual option. That’s about it.

    Oh and the R8.

Whoa, you mean you can't get an S5 cab 6MT 3.0T? I'm a couple years out from getting another vert and while a 996 911 cab is top of my list, I thought the Audi could be an option. Guess I just assumed such a combination existed.

Sadly (though not overly sadly) Audi pushed me right back into BMW with them going all auto.

I imagine doing a 0B5 > 0B4 swap in a S5 3.0T cab would be about as easy as tranny swaps get in modern Audis. You have all the parts sitting in any S4 or S5 3.0T 6MT wreck. People have done both 3.0T and 6MT swaps into A4 models.

BMW is all auto too unless you're getting an M. The last 3 Series you could get with a 6MT was 2019.

2019 is not that long ago yet, but the last 6mt s4 was in 2016, only the a4 had a 6mt with Quattro Ultra until 2019, and no RS since b8, and as you said, the M cars will still have a manual option going forward, so still a little bit more choice there.

Yeah...I know. Just bought an M4 end of last year. Was progressing to an RS5...just wasn't ready for an auto.

Yeah I know the years, I guess for me it doesn't make much of a difference since I found the 2019 340 interior to feel a bit cheap, and I need AWD and 4 doors so BMW doesn't have a 6MT that would work for me. But if you don't need AWD or 4 doors at least they still have an option.

When it comes time for a few car in a few years, it'll be an MK8R or new STi. Or a convertible again I suppose and keep the S4.

Soon enough everything will be electric and the only 6MT's will be older cars. Can't help but wonder what that will do for resale...

Yeah, I don’t care too much about the interior, but you do know that 340i and 440i had an all wheel drive with 6 my? Previous gen 440i was still available as 2020 model. Moreover, 2 series coupe hasn’t debuted yet, and m240i still has available 6mt and awd in 2021. Although most likely none of those are available on the dealer lots. There’s still a hope that next gen m240i will have a manual, and you won’t have to go to a full blown m2 to get it. But to be honest, I’m not that concerned about the lack of 6mt in luxury German cars as long as there’s BRZ or Toyota 86 - no awd and even cheaper interior but I don’t care.

Are manual transmissions still available in the EU?
