Best to log if unsure, my Ds1 S7 stage 2 works fine with OEM plugs.

There was an update along they way and the C7 S6/S7 4.0T uses the same OE plug as the RS7 now.
    06K-905-601-M = NGK SILFER8C7ES (NGK91006) Heat range 8 0.028" gap)
This should be fine for Stage 1 and is what I have used on my APR Stage 1 without issue since my 35k mile service 15k miles ago.

FWIW APR used to give a different recommendation for plugs and change interval on their Stage 3, but I do not see it on their website any more. I do not know what, if anything, has changed.
It is perhaps understandable to go one range colder at Stage 3 heat levels.

Is there any website or anything to explain what does this heat range 8 0.028 gap means? Does this NGK 91006 alteady kommes gapped or do i need to do that myself with special tool?

I believe it comes pre-gapped if you buy OE or that specific NGK P/N
heat range is just me being detailed.....those p/n are only heat range 8

Iridium plugs are already gapped. I run NGK 91006 on mine Stage 3 without issue. I don’t know if I could say spark plugs are great other than not being a problem.

Wise guy, providing a link to a site that causes information overload! My simple summary is that Audi determined what is a suitable plug for a stock car. When modified, finding the best plug is mostly trial and error with some broad "rules of thumb" (such as "go one heat range cooler per 100 HP increase"). Am I far off?

Yep, that is basically what I heard to back in the day too...1 range colder for each 100hp increase.
However, that doesn't seem to apply for Stage1 S6 and is somewhat unique since I "think", I am not 100% certain, that the original S6 plugs were one heat range hotter than RS7 plugs, but Audi changed that so now they are already one heat range colder if you ever changed them and bought OE plugs.
Anyone still rocking the original plugs on anything prior to a 2015 probably has other issues to think about. I think by the C7.5 it was already running changed to the RS7 plug.

Originals were 079905626M or G and were a Beru side fire plugs I believe 14F-4NBPR2LS but I can't find much info about the heat range compared to NGK's numbering.

APR used to have a recommended NGK plug on their website for Stage 3 before the site redesign.
I believe it was the NGK R7437-8 which is an NGK heat range 8, so even at Stage 3 power they recommended an 8.

The heat range must be carefully selected for proper spark plug thermal performance. If the heat range is not optimal, then serious trouble can be the result. The optimal firing end temperature is approximately 500°C (932°F) to 800°C (1472°F). The two most common causes of spark plug problems are carbon fouling (< 450°C) and overheating (> 800°C).

Current listed for 2014 S6 as well as 2016-2018 RS7 is part number 06K905601M (which I had installed when my CPO expired). Any idea what its specs are?

So you did. Told you I suffered information overload! Looks like the heat range designator goes from 5 (hot) to 9 (cold) for NGK, so a pretty cold plug. As you note, even the same plug for the RS7 Performance.

    I hear yah. No worries

Better too cold (fouled) than too hot (pre-ignition damage), but overall I think 8 is a good NGK range.
