Audi A4 2013 B8.5 Alternator replacement help? what is the best None OEM brand?

So i was driving in the street and my my car just shut down. It appears my Alternator is gone.

I recently just did my yearly check up and everything was good i don't know how the shop missed that my alternator was going bad. Check up was not even a month yet, more like 3 weeks ago. Any who i am looking for an alternator, for a non OME. I see Bosh has one on ecstuning but says its only up to 2012. So i don't know which one to get. Does anyone know where i can pick up the best non OME model?

    This is the link https://www.ecstuning.com/b-bosch-pa...h903016lx~bos/

Would it be smart to just buy use?

    Thanks

Not that it matters but, I think you mean OEM... OME is a suspension part(truck/suv).. Either way.. Here's a cheaper (Not by much, but..) one https://www.europaparts.com/alternator-06h903017k.html

    Edit:
Not sure if you're looking to DIY this? But there are a ton of videos/read on line..

Otherwise a quick YT search yielded this:

if 500 bucks is too much yeah, just buy clean low mile used from a reputable warrantied source. The alternator shouldn't be too hard to swap. Be mindful of the hot wire so disconnect the engine from the power. Bosch seems the only OEM supplier out there away from OE Audi.

You should probably look at your alternator and determine if its a 150A Bosch or 180A Valeo unit first. Might be reflected in your PR codes, look for 9G2 or 9G3.

    B8.0 140A Bosch alternators (Audi OE 06H 903 016 L new / 06H 903 016 LX reman, ie Bosch OEM AL0891N new / AL0891X reman) are definitely not used on the B8.5.

The bearings on the pulley went bad on mine. Today I changed it out with a NAPA remanufactured alternator. Sold as NAPA Power Premium Plus brand. Part is a BOSCH remanufactured alternator with painted black pieces in the back to hide all the OE markings. Out the door with core trade in I paid just under $200. I’m happy with a BOSCH part that comes with lifetime warranty <$200!

I have had a Remy alternator for 5 years now, no issues. Rockauto also sells Bosch replacements and I believe they also sell Valeo.

although this is VERY good advice, i just shove a section of rubber hose over the hot wire as i hate disconnecting the battery if i dont have to . But you have to know what you are doing and dont arc weld your socket handle to something.

ETKA specs our MY14 CAED with original PN 06H-903-017-T (PR 9G2), now at 06H-903-018-P (list 1,049 !).
Audi Columbus tells us that they have PN 06H-903-017-TU for $150(!) HERE; what do you-all suppose that's about? I'm not familiar with PN suffix 'U'.

Hmmm, that's even a thing ? Still rich for a used part (compared to, say lkqonline.com, e.g., https://www.lkqonline.com/2014-audi-...K/-i~260643796).

I've used Autozone's alternators for the past 20+ years without issues. I always buy the new ones, not the re-manufactured ones, that come with a lifetime warranty.

But if they didn't have a new one, I'd probably go with a remanufactured Bosch from Germany. I remember doing research a while back for my VW Golf and read about how Bosch EU and Bosch USA have different quality control standards. Car got totaled before I was able to test out the theory though.
